That's less credible than most news. First off, they may not even be real, and just the product of graphics editing. Second, if they're not who knows who really put them there? Third, where are they (truthfully)? Finally, if it's all real and as it's stated, who decided to put up road signs (in English) with no purpose but to thank U.S. troops?
I appreciate where you're going with this, but it seems a rather improbable situation.

LOL, I knew I should've kept the major link. This link was an offshoot of another, government run, etc..., but of course, we think they are all corrupt, too...
Showing a different POV here is impossible. No one asked you to just look at the pics, and try to figure out if they were photoshopped. You were asked to look at an entire site. Read. Email the SGT who created it if you need to question his honesty, write to him, the address is listed for you to do so.

Right. My guess is that this would be real. But wait! It can't be real.

I'm not saying that it isn't real, I'm simply stating the fact that the context of the image is difficult to believe. The only way to confirm their existence is to go there, something I'm not inclined to do. I am also, I might add, not inclined to read an entire website of that size simply to "verify" a source that really makes no difference to my assertion. It seems to me that you, Theresa, are diverting attention from my valid point to a non-issue. I don't care who runs the site, and I don't want to question the person who posted the pictures. I want only to present the doubtability of these photos. I do not do so to make a political statement. I do so to cast doubt on what you present with a rather shallow "How's this for a source?" I do not know if the pictures are credible or not, and their authorship will not change that. My purpose is to state just that.

Glad to hear it. I'd hate to think I was being misinterpreted. That seems to happen a lot with you. Anyway, since my point has obviously been made, goodnight.

Alright, thanks, but as long as you keep an open mind to thinking that they're real, because this is something I would think would be there.

You are wasting your time, RM, Someone who chooses to always believe the negative will never listen, even with facts right in their face. Just reply to the topic itself, k?

Indeeeeeeeed. Insurgents report US soldiers killed 20 babies, and 50 elderly, and it's treated as gospel. I don't know if I should use the word stupid or not,

He wasn't saying that he didn't believe it, just that it could have been faked. I believe that they are real, but in some areas that will be true. Probably most. There will be some areas though that the opposite would be true. I don't accept either pro or anti war stuff at face value if I can help it. I'm not for or against which helps.

I still stand by the idea that a majority of people in Afghanistan and Iraq feel that the United States' actions have been positive. That doesn't mean I believe propaganda, from either side. Everyone seems bent on portraying the U.S. as either evil or heroic in these instances, neither of which is a viewpoint that I accept. We've had our bad moments, before, during, and since the invasions themselves, but we're doing some real good where our forces are.
Theresa, you need to be more receptive to the viewpoints of others, rather than simply dismissing them with a witty comment and a smile. It's incredibly annoying, belittling, and, in my opinion, disgraceful behavior from someone with your status as an administrator. You're entitled to your viewpoints, but I don't think it's out of line to ask for a reciprocation of the respect I try to give you.

The smiles bother you? Huh, I was told they make the posts "nicer". That was the intention, but, w/e, when responding to you, there will be no more smilies.
I read your Party Internationale thing. It's amazing that you want something like that, but clearly don't trust anything. This soldier, nor this site has done anything to make you think that anything posted is false, yet you choose to immediately assume the worst.
I never said you were wrong, I was just merely unsurprised at your attitude.
If this site were mere propoganda, wouldn't there be thousands more like it? And wouldn't it have a bigger stage? It was a tiny little link on a government page, regarding soldiers, and their lives in Iraq. Technically, it was a link from a link from a link. A guy writing and posting pics about his life as a soldier in Iraq. So naturally we assume it's propoganda. I'll just assume that you go from A to B in a different manner.

I can trust the thank you one, but people in Afghanastan are muslim, so wouldn't they say "Allah protect" instead of "God bless"? Just a thought here.

LOL. Yea, muslims aren't too happy about trying to think of another god for any reason. I don't know how they are in the middle east, but I have some friends here, and, umm... Yeah, they are not willing to put aside thier beliefs.

Yes, but Allah and God ARE the same entity.
It's simply a translation of the name.

I don't think Jesus Christ ( who is the god of the majority of america) is quite the same as Allah. Muslims and Christians have different beliefs.
I would say more, but I don't want to sound racial. (again)

Jesus Christ and God are different concepts. According to some Christian denominations, they are the same entity, but even in those denominations Christ is a separate facet. So you are correct in your statement that Jesus Christ is not the same as Allah. A fundamental difference between Islam and Christianity is the fact that at no time in Muslim history did God manifest Himself as a mortal being.
The concept of Allah and God are one in the same. It's simply a diversion of cultural development that occurred after the fall of ancient Greek civilization. The Roman Empire and Christianity rose in Europe, while Islam rose in the Arab world.
The beliefs are not all that different either, both preach many of the same values but different practices of those values.

just for the record, as stated above Allah is God.
Allah (Arabic)- Eloi (Hebrew)- God (English). Arab Christians and Arabic Jews both have the name "Allah" in their translation of the scriptures instead of God or Yhwh.
I saw those "thank you" signs in Kuwait just outside Entertainment City, a theme park situated just outside the U.S Base where the patriot missiles are housed, fair dues they do appear to be genuine. I didn't know what they were thanking though
