World peace cannot be achieved by ignoring problems or differences. It can only be achieved by tolerating, respecting, and perhaps even eventually accepting others' beliefs.

Oh we have a winner. Excuse me while I curb my sarcasm, but I actually do agree with you on that. Unfortunately, I don't think it will ever happen, but that's another debate about humanity on a general scale.

My main problem with this anti-gay movement is that it seems not just a protest of an idea or object, but as a protest against actual people themselves. Sure, protest against gay marriage or whatever you wish. This event though just seems like an event planned to protest gays themselves, which doesn't seem right. This is what worries me...that protesting this group of people is going to bring out just more prejudice and hate towards the gay community.
And Mikado...I am not sure, but you seemed to have the impression that I said I hate gays, or homosexuality. I never said anything of the sort.

You don't have to agree with it, in fact, you can think it's downright evil, but it's wrong to criticize anyone for the act of protest. Criticize their message if you wish, but you should NEVER criticize their right to protest. IMHO.

That is just silly. I can criticize whoever I want for protesting. I am not going to say they don't have the right to...as long as they keep it peaceful. Not criticizing them though is another thing.... However, I have made my feelings known that they are not doing any good to any party.

Umn. No? I don't have that impression. In fact I'm not sure where that comment came from. When infact, I was rather impressed by the way you were defending the Day of Silence. -shrug.-
Though I do think that Day of Truth has it's right as well. I just think it's going to spread more homophobia, which is just grand. Really, note my sarcasm there please.

I'm a libetarian, I really don't care if people protest, if they want to, they have a right to.
I would be more ticked off if group A, silenced group B, because they said what they were doing was "Prejudiced".
Being where you have to be politically correct leads to less freedom of speech, since what is currently politically correct is really dynamic, then it can be manipulated by various individuals to make it impossible to express freedom of speech.
Boom, you've just lost your right to freedom of speech.
So I don't think people should care if you support the day of silence, or if you support the day of truth. However we should all be against anyone who is against freedom of speech, for essentially your against our freedom.
