If the immigrants get the Green Cards the legal way which is through getting that visa first. Then everything should be just fine.

The only issue here is illegal immigrants wanting to get a better life in America and doing it illegally by crossing the border without permission.

I think the U.S. Government should build a 1000 Mile Long electric fence around the border. This way no one would dare cross illegally or face certain death. This would scare people away from wanting to cross the border knowing that people would die trying to cross illegally.

We should take extreme measures in stopping illegal immigrations.

^I believe that my plan, which I've already posted, is better and would provide for better security.

So now we're going to kill them? Your solution is not a good one. America will only gain the title of immigrant killers. Good Lord. Killing them is NOT the solution.

I don't think we should kill them, but borg's idea would really scare them away, but yeah, if they don't know...we shouldn't KILL them.

Killing them is much too extreme. Murders and rapists don't even always face death. I don't think the United States needs innocent blood on its hands .

We are not killing them we are giving them a choice. A choice of crossing the border or not crossing the border.

If they try to cross the border they could die.
If they do not cross the border then they live.

So thats what I meant.

Or just protect the borders in other ways, like mine
Sending them back is not the way to go. But nor is killing them.

In some ways that post is totally wrong.

Just because America and a number of other countries are rich it doesn't mean all countries are. This may be a bit obvious, but the poor countries are in no position to make themselves a good economy. For example Mexico's debt is about $159.8 billion (2003 est.). Not exactly easy to pay off. Although it's not the worst (many third world countires pay more in the repayment of debt than they spend on education and health put together) this is not easy to pay back. Also poor countries face other problems of trying to get out of debt. If they produce raw material to export to rich counties then they get very low prices (such as coffee, iron, etc), but if they use money to produce finished products which get far better prices such as cars etc then they face tariff's (basically taxes) when they export them to another country. This raises the price so much they can't compete with the rich countries cars prices, and so they don't sell them. So don't say they should be doing a better job when they have these problems.

This would be far too expensive to produce and run.

And not only too expensive, I would be sad knowing all the wildlife that would suffer. They are stuck on sides of the boarders as well, And the animals wouldn't know any different and walk right into the fence.

Poor things.

On another note, something like that would not be a bad idea. No matter how much it costs to operate. If the president were that concerened about our country, I'm sure he would comply with something of that nature. I'm sure our tax money would go to something else, with little meaning.

There are still more things that the government can do than teach them how to come here

In my hometown, American's loose their jobs cause of illegal aliens. I have a Mexican American that lives beside my mom, she completely agree with me. She lost her job. But hey but life too short too worry. Whatever happens just happens. nothing we can do but Government

ANY other considerations aside, illegal aliens are lawbreakers, and deserve to be deported (at least).

Aren't you currently a dishwasher? Sometimes we have to take jobs that aren't necessarily our "goal in life".

LOL, wondered if that would come up. Do I find people complaining when we import their doctors into our countries when we have shortages? Which results in them not having them.

Someone should post a copy of a green card application, Most of the illegals coming in aren't doctors and such. Not to say that they should be allowed before a general laborer, either.

That would be great, I would like to see a copy. If I knew how to do it, I would help ya out there, Theresa. But sadly... I don't.

Exactly.

Agreed on all fronts. I would like to see an application, and I would NOT think that an illegal would be a doctor.

If the illegal immigrants agree to work for 2 years cleaning the city sewer systems then we should give them green cards, and visas. If not send them back to Mexico.

Alright, look at what's happening. According to Fox News, there have been pretty much NO illegal immigrants coming through this area--and that's where there are people with LAWNCHAIRS and NOT national guardsmen. Doesn't this show that if we block up the border with more and more people, they will not come through? It does. And also, North Korea, which has people that WANT to get out because they HAVE NO FOOD, and yet the military blocks their borders well enough to keep them out. If they can do THAT, can't we put our military on our border to keep people out?

Yes it will remove illegal immigrants.

However it will be extremely costly because the Military would have to recruit thousands of troops for the job. Since this would be a day and night job the Military could spend billions of dollars doing the job.

So I think minutemen and border patrol are doing enough. The least we could do is add more border patrol.
