one thing you might want to try is "Spybot Search and Destory". It's an awesome FREE program that gets rid of adware and spyware on your computer. It has been an absolute dream for me!! My friend who is the producer and webmaster for a big radio station here has put it on the website there for all the viewers to use. Here's the link: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10289035.html?tag=lst-0-1

hope it works!

Windows XP Service Pack 2 has a pop-up blocker.

Google.com has its own pop-up blocker which is free.

Yahoo.com also has its own pop-up blocker which is also free.

Overall these are the best pop-up blockers for IE nothing gets better than this. On the plus side you don't have to pay or download big 10 meg files for one pop-blocker that just slows down your comp.

i got Trojan Hunter against Trojan Horses, panda Titanium for virusses, spybot and microsoft antispyware against spyware and popups.

And you know what? I never had that many popups before, something called Searchmiracle keeps returning. Microsofts anitspyware scans the computer every day and every day it removes the Searchmiracle application, great but it keeps coming back. Its really annoying.

Also almost every day Trojan hunter neutralizes about 3 Trojan Horses from ny computer, great but they also keep coming back.

The reason it didn't get rid of pop ups is because it gets rid of spyware. Spyware is programs that record what you do, and type so someone else can get things like bank account numbers or passwords. They usually come in tiny programs downloaded as cookies.

I would say get Mozilla Firefox, as that has a pop up blocker that works really well. In fact I've had it for months and not seen one pop up. It's also a lot better and safer than internet explorer. You can download it free from http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/index.html. I also would recommend anyone using IE to get it,

GET FIREFOX!

Pop-up blocker built-in.

Plus, get Flashblocker. It lets you choose which flash items on a page you want to see. I can't stand unwanted flash items using up bandwidth and annoying me.

It doesn't stop all of them - sorry i forgot to mention that - but it gets rid of quite a bit of it!! So much so, that only a few come up now and again, and it's definitly not overly annoying at all!
