(Court TV) Police in Butte, Mont., are looking for a leprechaun who behaved like a modern-day bandit.
According to Butte Police Capt. Doug Conway, an unidentified man dressed in a leprechaun costume robbed a local coin laundry at gunpoint on the eve of St. Patrick's Day.
The suspect wore a fake black beard, mustache, a black plastic hat and a green kilt. He entered the store at around 11 p.m., opened his jacket and showed the clerk the handle of a gun tucked into his waistband. He then demanded money.
"He told the clerk that he was looking for his pot of gold," Conway said.
The man escaped with about $300. He is described as a white male in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall.
Anyone with information should contact the Butte-Silver Bow Police Department at (406) 497-1120. |

Most of us don't really need another piece of evidence regarding the weirdness of humanity at large, but thanks for the story anyway. Sounds like the man got his gold.... Sort of.

lol, yep! It just makes me laugh at some of the stupid things people do. I always wonder what is going through their minds to make them want to do such things...

Why call him stupid? I seriously doubt he will ever be caught unless someone who knows him rats him out.

Yea the disguise was awesome.. and on a good day to use it too! But I think it is so lame to rob a place where you are only going to benifit $300. It isn't worth it.
at least to me it isn't.

Well, true. On the other side of that coin though, the more you steal the harder the authorities will look for you.

Thats true too. If you rob a bank, they sniff you out like a blood hound, on the other hand, if you rob the local laundromat, they look for you, but if they don't find you in a week or two they just stop looking.

Well, in my mind, If I were gonna go down for something... like stealing... I would make sure it was well worth it incase I got caught.
and $300 just does not cut it for me.. That is nothin. I don't think anything under $100,000 is worth stealing. But that is just me... hehe

Yeah, but steal something worth that much and there's nowhere on the planet you can hide.

I'm sure it would be possible.
#1) If i were able to get my hands on somethin over a hundred thousand... Obviously i would be a pro.
#2.) People do it all the time, the diamonds.. rare paintings... sure ppl are lookin for them, But they are too good to be caught!
