Rick Berman Gives Star Trek Fans The Finger

The following column provides potential MAJOR SPOILERS to the series finale of "Star Trek: Enterprise." Also, the language might be a little more coarse than readers normally are used to, so please continue to read at your own discretion. If you're Rick Berman or Brannon Braga, parental guidance is suggested.
I sure hope this is a joke.
You know what I mean ... one of those nice little disinformation mill-style stories to get everyone worked up. I mean, it's been so long since executive producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga have done this, but I just so hope that this is the case.
Word is out about what the series finale of "Star Trek: Enterprise" is going to entail. It will include two faces from the past -- more specifically, Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" -- and believe it or not, the holodeck of the NCC-1701-D.
Yeah, just like how Bobby Ewing ended up in the shower, just like how Bob Newhart awoke from that dream, just like how Roseanne was writing that book ... the crew of the NX-01 is really just nothing more than some holographic images being run for the amusement of future people on a luxury liner.
If any part of this story is true, then this isn't the "valentine" that they had promised Star Trek fans. Instead, this is a big "Frack you" to the fans. I know, strong words ... but how else can I describe it?
I don't want to see everything about the voyages of Capt. Jonathan Archer and his crew to be nothing more than a holographic representation. I mean, come on, fans deserve a hell of a lot better than that. If you're going to do something, then why don't you just reveal FutureGuy?
I have stuck with this series, even as it faltered in the second season. I was not the biggest fan of the Xindi arc, but I thought it did a lot to bring the series back to the kind of quality it needed. But by the time Berman and Braga brought in some real might, in the form of Manny Coto, it was too little, too late. The show was dead. It had been moved to Friday nights, and it saw less viewership than a rerun of "Critters" on Sci-Fi Channel.
Who should get the blame for Star Trek being on life support? How about Paramount. How about Rick Berman. How about Brannon Braga.
Why couldn't those people take hints from strong writers like Peter David, who had great series ideas, but refused to work on any Star Trek show as long as those two bozos were in charge? Look at Ronald D. Moore who took his tremendous talent and went elsewhere. The same with Ira Steven Behr.
Moore is the biggest thing I've always been mad about. Braga and Berman just pissed all over him, and let him get away. They obviously don't know talent when they see it. To me, Moore -- who ALWAYS was a Star Trek fan -- is a genius. And that is quite evident now in "Battlestar Galactica."
Just imagine, gentleman. He has a series on at 10 p.m. on a Friday night, on a cable channel that is available in about half the homes UPN is ... and he's KICKING YOUR #ss.
I almost want to tell the great fans that make up Save Enterprise, the Enterprise Project, TrekUnited, and others not to waste their time. To be honest, if they are successful in bringing back Enterprise, it's not going to do any good if Berman is still involved, if Braga is still involved. I mean, what's the point?
Now Paramount is letting Berman do ANOTHER movie? Did they forget the trash that made up the last two so-called Star Trek films? And you're going to let him do another one?
There is an oversaturation of Star Trek. I agree with Braga on that. But there also is an oversaturation of Braga and Berman. The Killer B's. They couldn't sit back and say, "You know ... we just can't keep this fresh ... we need to bring in new blood." No, it was more about their stupid egos, and their non-sensical "Even if it's broke, don't fix it" attitude.
Well, Ricky and Bran ... if you think so poorly of Star Trek fans, then let me personally return the favor.

OMG?! Now I see why Jolene Nlalock has called the finale "appalling!" If this is what they are going to do, then I would have to agree with Blalock in saying that this is nothing but "appaling"...not to mention an outrage to the minimum of Enterprise fans

Actually, I think that could work. At least there wouldn't be as many errors in the timeline (even though we finally agreed (maybe) that it was the other timeline from FC)

Ok im glad enterprise is going...but i dont like the way its going out! the enterprise should be destoyed in a galiant battle protecting earth, not just be a holodeck program. Berman berman berman...what can we do with you? I think some of the old actors from star trek should produce it, they would know how it works and how to write it so the viewers would enjoy watching star trek...that article seems to be telling the truth, and if it is then berman is an insult to star trek.

It wouldn't be worthless exactly. It just shows what could of happened instead of what really happened.

Now you know why 12 to 13 million viewers stopped watching enterprise and why star trek is on life support.
The killer B's are at work, and they obviously dont care about what they do, or about anyone in general with there comments.
Very disappointing...
