PostSun Mar 20, 2005 4:14 pm    who was the first borg?

I was wondering, who was the first borg and how did they come into existence and why did they choose the queen to be the queen?

Hmm, I would think that the queen was the first... How they were made may be because of Q?

I always wondered who made the Borg cause someone had to do it. Or something. Confusing.

Well, some pple thing it was along the lines of normal people with implants so convos like "The new 4.5 ocular implant is great" may have happend. But it got carriedaway and the borg happend. It said that the Queen was not the first but was a strong willed indivisual who brought the chaos to order (st first contact)

oH, the queen was not the first Borg for sure, she wasm ade from the body of Species 125. Thats means that the borg had already encountered 125 species before they even had a Queen, perhaps.

Oh, oh, oh. Read my Story on the Fanfiction forum about the history of the borg! tHats my theory on who was the first.

Not to throw a wrench into the gears, but as you said, that means they have "encountered" 125 other species, which does not mean any of them were assimilated.

The Borg queen called them a Low class species so i gues now they are all Borg, inlcuding the queen herself.

Maybe Dr. Soong has made them. At the last episode with him in ENT, he said that he wanted to begin experiences with human androids. Maybe the project failed and the Borg was born. I think that he after that, made the android Data.

Its not the Borg Queen. As someone else pointed out, she is of species 125. I think they aren't a species. I think the Borg "collective" is like one gigantic cyborg being. It probably started off as a small cyborg with the nano probe technology. Perhaps this cyborg wanted to seek out perfection. He found that when he assimilated a being, his thoughts would connect with him. So in his lust for perfection, he assimilated an entire species. Then he kept moving on and on and on and on. Maybe eventually the "cyborg" died or was killed, but his "collective" consicousness lives on. The queens are perhaps an embodiment of that mind? Who knows...

The queen is a representation for communication with other species outside the collective mind. Just like Locutus of Borg the Borg queen tlaks too another species to convince them they will be assimilated.

What d oyu mean with: "A small cyborg with the nanotechnology"?

It was a human guy named Phil. That's all we need to know

In all seriousness, though, I think that it was a person in the Delta Quadrant, or group of people, who encountered a machine, and that machine made them part machine, and added some sort of neural net, and the Borg began.

At this rate, we're going to be the Borg.

They're already talking about implanting computer chips in your brain... where will that lead?

Then again...it could have been the Borg Queen's species. Perhaps her species created the Borg and assimilated other cultures. Then after a while in a bid for perfection they assimilated themselves. They were the one hundred and twenty first species to be assimilated....hhhhmmm.

Interesting thought, but not very logical. becuase then the question would remain why the Borg queen is not a standard Borg drone like osm many before her.

Well like I said, maybe her species was the creaters of the Borg. Thus making them the top drones.

She said in Star Trek: Voyager that her body was made from a mere Low class species, Species 125. So they are not the Top Drones.

Yeah, and don't they number the species in the order that they... can't think or the right word... "discover" them? Species 8472 had a number but weren't assimilated, same with Humans, Vulcans, Klingons, etc. None of them had been completely assimilated.

It's a good question about who was the first Borg, and how they come to be. I guess we never know, but Lionhead's fanfic gives us a good idea.
