Are there any 'official' names for Europe, apart from 'Europe'?
Like ....continental or .....atlantic? (transcontinental?  )
Just wondering.

Well, there's the European Union, but that only involves (is it 25 now?) some of the countries.
I guess otherwise it's just Europe.

Yep, just europe. You have england right next too it  .
part of europe is called Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden and Finland together).

Guess what? Officially, England is a part of Europe 
So are Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire/Southern Ireland/Republic of Ireland (that place has too many names )

well you don't show it! You drive on the wrong side of the road, you don't have th Euro currency plus there is a big sea between the main land and england. I'm surprised you are part of the EU  (a joke.).

Our little island is now linked by tunnel to the rest of Europe.
That annoying country with too many names (Eire etc.) does use the Euro as it's form of currency.
And yes, we are a part of the EU... although we are a lot different to the other EU countries Main one being we are incredibly lazy and only really learn one language and expect everyone else to understand us

Then why don't the Italians still drive on the left side (along with the rest of europe since the romans conquered all of it)?

Nope... the closest you get is what us Brits call "The Continent" referring of course to mainland Europe.
As for the Romans being long gone, we then rode on horseback on the left hand side of the road. Made it easier to attack your opponent with a sword (if you were right handed, as most people were. If you were left handed you were made to use your right hand, because it was considered unnatural to use your left).
Just a little bit of extra info on that bit- the reason we shake our right hands is to show you're NOT holding a sword, dagger or any other instrument of death That's how it's a sign of friendship.

The benelux is just a group name for BElgium, NEtherlands and LUXembourg but its not official. Only the people in the Benelux use it.
The balkan is a mountain range by the way, just like the Alps.

I know. But "Scandinavia" is just as official as "Benelux": it isn't. Apart from being on the same island, Sweden, Norwegen and Finland do not form a union or something.

Hm. Scandinavia... that has something to do about those montains in norway... sooooo... shouldn't it be... just... sweden... and norway... ehm... since the montain is... here...? 
Anyway. What's wrong with "Europe"? I mean... why do you need another name for it?

You do have Eurasia though, thats just the name for the big piece of land where Europe and Asia are part of.
