PostSat Mar 12, 2005 7:01 am    ENDING- its allover i found it on the net SPOILERS

Quote:
Enterprise to go out with a fart

Rumors are the fodder of the internet, but this particular one seems to be consistently spread amongst all the Star Trek fan sites regarding the last episode of Enterprise. If you're one of the few Star Trek fans with lingering interest in this paragon of banality, stop now.

The last episode of Enterprise will feature the death of Trip Tucker and a surprise twist...the show ends with Troi and Riker on the deck of the Enterprise D ending the hologram program which apparently has been the entire four year Enterprise run.

That's right folks. They've torn a page right out of the Dallas playbook. Enterprise has now become the proverbial Bobby Ewing shower scene. It was all a dream, Star Trek fans. More like a nightmare. From the horrible writing to the gratuitous Vulan Shower scene to that inexcusable opening theme, this show has proven to be a textbook rotten egg.

It's a shame really. I'm about as diehard a Star Trek fan as any god-fearing Trekker, but Enterprise failed me so miserably that I hope they just let the franchise die. Save whatever dignity the show has left and just let it stand on past merits. Please, let it die. I doubt they'll ever be able to come up with something fresh and exciting with Berman at the helm. Trek died with Roddenberry, and it's a shame. Yes, DS9 and Voyager had its moments, but Ebert said it best in his review of Star Trek Nemesis:

"I've also had it with the force shield that protects the Enterprise. The power on this thing is always going down. In movie after movie after movie I have to sit through sequences during which the captain is tersely informed that the front shield is down to 60 percent, or the back shield is down to 10 percent, or the side shield is leaking energy, and the captain tersely orders that power be shifted from the back to the sides or all put in the front, or whatever, and I'm thinking, life is too short to sit through 10 movies in which the power is shifted around on these shields. "

I share your frustrations, Eb. Star Trek used to be about science...discovery...youth curiosity...about friendship and problem solving...intelligence. Today it's about blowing up and expensive graphics. Roddenbery did more with an eight hundred dollar model than any CGI whiz ever did. These are different times, I guess.

Oh well

I never liked Enterprise, but this is just ridiculous.

I think it's a good idea. At least we would have the right timeline in tact after this.

Please, when posting in this topic, and making a comment that could be considered a spoiler, and especially when mentioning something said in the first post, use the [quote][color=white] tags, so not everyone will be "spoiled", k? Just like in SF, F & D.

No. Not the time travel. They screwed up the continuity. Thats our biggest grief with the show.

I half agree, I hate how the did mess up a lot of the storylines, and how they did over use time travel, but I am glad that they did have some time travel in the show other than Q.

I think that when Enterprise was good, it really was good. And you had bursts of really good consecutive episodes. But similarly, when it was bad, it really was...I won't say bad but...unimpressive. And I guess that once you've lost a viewer, he or she isn't likely to come back readily...

That sounds like the best ending they could have thought up for this show actually. It is just what the show needs too.

Please, I... We want out 24th century trek back.

You know part of me thinks that it's a ruse.

They "leaked" the story to hide the real one.

It makes me mad because everything that was described in the history database about starfleet before the federation was founded was never put into enterprise episodes only that they met the klingons and romulans and xindi. There was so much more, during that era that was to be explored, and events to happen and never will be, but gets put on a holodeck on enterprise-d?A 2 year old child could have came up with something better.

If star trek goes under, its not the viewers faults, its the writers and directors for there stupidity.

You know, it's people with attitudes like this that bug the hell out of me. Go ahead, don't like the show. Hate it all you want. But no one can go as far to say that it is that bad. Even so, if you really hate the show, there's a real solution that all the bashers don't seem to get.

DON'T FREAKIN' WATCH IT!

*pants*

I think most of you know my stance on this, especially considering where I come from..

You are so right. If people don't like it, then they should not watch it. Watch the shows u like not what you don't like. That's my opinion as well.

I think that's a sad ending for enterprise. The only thing worse than that would be if you discovered it was all being acted out by barbies or it was all in a snowglobe, like the grinch who stole christmas. Or if Archer woke up and "it was all a dream" but then he looked in his bed and a zindi was there or something.

They could do it so Trip woke up, went "that was a bad dream honey" and then you see he's in bed with T'pol cos they're married or something.

The holodeck would have to have Data on (he's in enterprise as an evil doctor) and Archer could just be a random crew member of the enterprise and it could end with the line "Good game, Mr Data, good game."

That would just about be acceptable. You can't put troi and riker in it, because we've never seen anything that even vaguely resembles them in it, so that would be sooooooo stupid.

I like enterprise. The episodes that you can watch individually are great. Its the ones where you have to have watched it for two years to understand whats going on that annoy me.

I absolutely agree 1. At least the timeline would be in tact after this, and it may open the way for something else in the future .

I also agree with this, because if we remember correctly, Star Trek: TOS only lasted three-four years but look what it paved the way for; the likes of TNG, DS9, and the famed Voyager. I agree, long live Star Trek and please hurry and come back with another series...more awesome than the others .

They should come out with something in the future, who is going to explain how federation timeships were created and technology of that era?As well as the new races they meet?

Theres alot of time to cover and alot of storyline. Perhaps that will be something of the future of star trek.I hope something happens soon..

As for the ending of enterprise, ive questioned why they even attempted a storyline like this.It makes me come to a conclusion that the writers have lost there minds and the directors even more for allowing this ending to take place.Any storyline in the time period of enterprise would have suffice over this.
