That was great.
Kirk is the man.

I was just reading through some old Trek TV Guides, and found an article about this. Shatner was asked about it, and he said that it was ridiculous, that it was comparing apples and oranges. The reporter asked him again who was the best, and he said, "I am." It was great,

Picard. By far.
Kirk is more of a 'punch first, ask questions later' type. I think Picard was more into using his brain!

It's kind of strange to have a thread where everyone likes Kirk above Picard in the "Next Generation" forum....

picard is better than kirk. but this is because i am 19 years old and how does someone my age get into any show made in the 60's. i'm not saying TOS is really bad, but i just cant watch it at all and i cant see how to compare the 2 captains like that. and the main reason why i did not watch TOS is because of the bad special effects. -just my input..

From what I've seen (and heard), it seems as though Kirk has gotten his shirt ripped a great many times. I'd have to vote for 'em because he'd probably wail on Picard.

i do think that picard is a better and more idealistic captain, if humans ever do explore space there not gonna have a captain like kirk, (maybe not archer either) but anyway

I like both Captains. But, Kirk did got involved with his crew and went on away missions. Picard also did not take no bull from anyone.
