My big thing with Star Trek now is that the writers and producers of Trek don't really seem to care about the fans... they do whatever they want to, regardless about how we feel about it.

I believe that will eventually bring Trek to an end...and that is unfortunate.

/\ I agree with that, but to be fair to the producers they are just trying /\ to change with the times, like most media producers do, and bring in new fans.

They are fighting a losing battle, because in the vigor to find new fans, they are losing the old ones. I know that I don't watch ST anymore. I know quite a few people who were as fanatical and loyal as ever who left the ST fandom for the very reasons I stated. The writers are shooting themselves in the foot. It defeats the purpose of changing.

Isn't that the truth! Only you would come up with such a wild idea!

Why the hell would they cancel your completely wrong Voyager and DS9 were extremely popular and Enterprise is still making money why in the world would cancel a series when your still making lots of money. Also your sn is really stupid because there is no way star wars is better than star trek, star wars would be crushed by the star trek universe in a battle because of many simple reasons.
1. Lasers do not work on Federation shields, this is said in a TNG episode
2. Transporters just throw everyone into space
3. Unlike Star Destroyers, trek ships put the shield generators inside the shields.
4. Vulcans could beat the crap out of jedis

I could not agree more. I like this explanation, and there is really no reason for star Trek to be cancelled. Give me one good reason that you can back up, and I will consider it.

Besides if you kill it sci-fi itself could go with it....

Yeah I totally agree, Sci-Fi wouldn't be Sci-Fi without Trek.

Without Star Trek, Sci-Fi would just be Fi...=S

"Vulcans could beat the crap out of Jedis"

You know what I have to say to that?

Yeah right! How? With a Vulcan nerve pinch?

Back to the topic , i dont think star trek will ever be cancelled, it may decline in ratings from time to time, but it will keep stable.I think the new movies and series will keep coming as technology comes avaliable, until that time we can keep on watching the star trek series and movies avaliable to us.

There is still along way to go (the future) in the star trek saga, making futuristic things requires new technology and thats what the star trek industry is waiting on to create more things at the right time.Gene roddenberry jr, has already stated :"star trek will always be around even if it takes 15 years to make another series or movie, it will still be here".
