I think it would be cool to make a series based on the Klingons. I'd like to see straight-up space combat and good 'ole pillaging and looting instead of the endless series of morality plays that ALL SF shows have devolved into.
Besides that, since Klingons use assassination to move up the ladder, unpopular characters/actors would be easy to get rid of. And it would be cool to see the "stare into the dying dude's eyes and howl" thing every show.

While I would absolutely love to see an all Klingon Trek, I believe in a more noble and honorable Klingon race that fallows the way of the warrior and not the cut-throat savage. Basically I believe in chivalrous and misunderstood Klingon people with a very complex society. Of course there would be sects of evil or un-honorable Klingons.

I'm afraid I don't see a distinction between "the way of the warrior" and "the cut-throat savage". I think you should read some written-by-someone-who-was-there war material. From any war.
{regrets that there is no Emoticon for sad-but-true}
And I doubt that it would be the noble and honorable Klingons who carved an Empire (not a "Federation") out their surrounding space.

If they made a series based purely on the Klingons I don't think I would watch Trek anymore.

I hate Klingons. They're stupid savageness is ridiculous. The only Klingons I like are Martok and Worf, but only because they don't care about fighting and death every second. They are a cool species but to have a show revolve around them? It would get....repetitive.

I respect your opinion. I find stories about namby-pamby holier-than-thou types who violate their own "code" at every turn - well, repetitive.

Who said it would all-Klingon? What about the others they encounter? Nobody builds an Empire by taking empty planets. And you bump into just as many strange phenomena whether you are bent on conquest or "seeking knowledge".

If there was a klingon series , i would love for it to based on the beginning of the founding of the klingon empire (kahless era) and see how there ways of life were and how they endured with the invading races like the hur'q and survived as a race.

A Klingon show would make me very. Very. Happy. It would be interesting to get into a very poltical era of it...like, trying to re-assert the empire as a power, as it has fallen through the years (opinion). Although, I would hope they would change the smokey-looking room effect...thing...they always seem to have going on in Klingon ships. It's more than a little wearing.

Having thought about this, I have decided that a Kligon-based show needs to wait for.......Smell-o-Vision!
(Seriously, there are at least two companies working on this, one for theaters and one for home use.)

I wouldn't mind a Klingon Mini-Series but not a full series. In fact, I think when Trek comes back, it should look into the possibility of doing a mini-series or two as opposed to another series about a starship.
Ideas for Mini-Series:
The Klingons
The Romulans
Starfleet Academy
The Vulcans

No Romulans. They are creepy...... A mini-serie over Vulcans. That would be the logicalest explaination

It would be cool to see the Vulcans before, during, and after their conversion to logic.

I think it would be much more interesting to have books written on all the various species in Star Trek, but that's just my opinion. I think reading is much more enjoyable than actually watching the situation.

I agree with ya, Ziona. If you are reading, then you begin to imagine how that person will look, how he do those things etc. etc. If you just read a book, and you go then watch the movie, then you would say that it wasn't something you suspected. For example: Harry Potter. If you have read the book's, then the film is boring. And Vice-Versa. If ya watched the film and you are now going to read the book, then the book is boring.

Ziona brings up an interesting point, one I used to preach to Star Wars fans in the 80s and 90s.
Right now, there is no Trek on TV and no movie planned. But you can keep yourself busy with the many books which you might enjoy. It's the same with Star Wars - check out the Expanded Universe until Lucas makes another series or movie.

Um...contribute to the conversation next time will ya?
I've recently changed my opinion on this topic. I still don't want an all Klingon show, but I think they are an interesting species and could have the potential to be interesting in a series. Just not as the center...

Ya, no contributions to the subject are starting to drive me nuts...
sorry...anyway...about this...I wouldn't want an ALL Klingong show...but maybe for them to play an intricate role in a series would be interesting...but then again, you're gonna eventually get bored with them, so you might as well just have an all Klingon show...I dunno...
I think I would get sick of all the challengings and stuff if it were an all Klingon show. All this macho stuff, and "who's better than who." No...definitely not good for a Trek show...

Well, it would be cool if they make a serie with a Klingon Captain on a Starfleet Bridge. Like Worf as Captain on his own ship.

Hmm...that'd be interesting...though I don't see it happening...but defnitely interesting...
I don't even think there are any other Klingons in Starfleet, right? Just Worf...and I mean FULL blooded Klingons...not half and half...Like Torres. But anyway...If there is no other Klingon in Starfleet but Worf, then we need to move passed Worf and not use him...And it would take about like almost 20 years before most people would be a Captain and Captain their own ship. So that's about 20 years of Trek that would have to pass by to see that happen.

I think it might be interesting for a few episodes but then I think it would just get old after a while. I think we should only have Klingons in moderation, except Worf of course. He's awesome! LOL, sadly I thought that Michael Dorn looked sexier and better looking in the Klingon makeup than he did when he wasn't in character...small little fantasy I have going with Worf, .
