PostSun Feb 20, 2005 5:16 pm    Star Trek Deep Space Nine: Unity

I just finished reading this book.

Possible Spoiler:
Quote:
It is about Sisko's return from the Wormhole, Bajor's entry into the Federation, Alien conspiracy to destroy the Trill and take over the Wormhole, Sisko and Kassidy's baby being born and A LOT more!

Anyone read it? I thought it was a great book but the ending was kinda anti-climatic. Thats just my opinion though. Others may not agree. What do you all think?

Yeah but people may not want to know all of that until they get it.

It starts off kinda slow IMO and the ending was just so fast. Don't get me wrong, the ending was great. It was what I've been waiting for since the last episode of DS9. This was the first post-Dominion War book I read. It takes place about exactly nine months after the last episode. It was interesting and even delves into a lot of TNG stuff. So TNG fans might enjoy it too. Also if people are lost on whats been happening for the past nine months like I have, the beginning of the book explains it.

I have it in my pile of "to read" books , if it's as good as the Mission Gamma books I don't think I'll be disapointed!

Not really. The beginning of the book tells you what has happened since the end of DS9 the show. Although you will get a lot more detail out of Avatar im sure.(I never read it). Read all of Unity and you'll see it isn't exactly needed.

You should read Avatar anyways, its a great book. I loved it.

Defiant do you know if there are books AFTER Unity? Or is that the latest post-Unity/DS9 book?

I really enjoyed this novel (finished last week - I haven't really read for a while). I agree the ending did seem abit fast but yay the gangs all there!

I don't think there are any post unity books out the year, the only DS9 novel (bar the worlds of DS9) is Hollow Men which is set during the Dominion War.

Which is a shame, I prefer to move forward if you know what I mean

I know what you mean. The only new DS9 books I've seen are the "Worlds of DS9" series and they don't really appeal to me that much...
