so you're going to pass up something that will have more impact on the world then any war based on evidence from non-scientific sources?

I doubt you really went and took the time to see who makes these reports

The guy who wrote the report you cited, is the VP of The National Center for Public Policy Research, a proclaimed conservative group with no scientific backing. And from the look of their "About us" page, they agree with every single thing you do. I can see why you trust it so much.

Try this:
http://yosemite.epa.gov/oar/globalwarming.nsf/content/index.html

This is the EPA's site about global warming. This will give you the basis of things that are truely wrong.

Nope. It doesn't. These articles are of quality, and truth.
And besides, before I even found that, I didn't see it as a grave threat, and I won't. I think it's been hyped way to much.

I can tell then, that you clicked it and hardly read anything.

There is nothing hyped about the seriousness of Global Warming. This is not something that effects some countries, it effects everyone and everything.

I'll give a few examples; UV radiation has increased in the past years, we see this by the defects in frogs. Yes, frogs. Missing or extra limbs, lack of eyes or blindness, deformed limbs, etc.

Another is the melting of the ice shelfs and the warming of the oceans. With the oceans warming up, Sharks come inland more, so prepare to see an influx of rather nasty shark attacks. Also, with oceans warming, continental ice shelves will begin to melt and the water table will rise, cities will sink and land will become a finite commodity.

It is a threat, but not serious. I don't think that that has too much of a connect with Global Warming. But this is a topic that you need not try to convert me. I've seen evidence from multiple sources, including those that see it as a threat, and yet I have my view. I do not see it as a grave threat. And there is no way to convince me, but you can keep trying to change the minds of other people, so since I'm not really contributing and just have my hardly unchanging view (I'll admit that it has changed from seeing it as one of our planet's gravest threats to not a threat at all to at least some of a threat), so I should probably just stop.
Everyone else can argue this here, though.

One more thing: I will admit that, because of my lack of argument and points, I am losing the debate on this subject. Yes, I am losing, I admit , because this isn't a topic that I really want to debate, and so I am not really arguing my side, while Link IS arguing his side, and quite well, if I may add , but that is NOT the reason that I am not wanting to argue this anymore. I have my view, and it remains unchanged., and I don't really FEEL like arguing global warming, at least not at this time, so that's why I'm not actually going to post in this topic anymore. Good job, Link

PostSun Feb 20, 2005 10:10 pm    Misunderstanding Global Warming

The biggest misconception on the part of most people is that when they hear the phrase "global warming", they picture world-wide droughts and 50C tempertures.

The Earth's surface is a huge heat engine, whose working fluid is water and whose power source is the Sun.

The real threat behind "global warming" is that an increase of just .1C can radically change the dynamics of the system, resulting in water masses moving from place to place and greater variability in weather patterns. This means that some places get drier, some places get wetter, and almost all places see "unusual" weather.

And whether or not you believe in "global warming", the FACTS are that glaciers are dissapearing, the Artic ice is getting thinner and shorter-lived, and both floods and droughts are becoming less predictable.
