PostWed Feb 16, 2005 7:13 pm    Three Fort Stewart soldiers were killed in Iraq

Savannah Morning News.
Quote:

Three soldiers from the 3rd Infantary Division at Fort Stewart died in Iraq when their vehicle overturned, the Pentagon said, Tuesday.

The soldiers killed Sunday in Balad, Iraq, were , Spc. Dakotah L. Gooding, 21, Des, Moines, Iowa, Sgt. Rene Knox. Jr., 23, New Orleans, and Sgt. Chad W. Lake, 26, Ocala, FLA- All of the division's 5th Squadron. 7th Cavalry.

The 3rd Infantary, which helped load the assault on Bagdad in 2003, returned to Iraq last month for a second tour. Two soldiers from the division who were killed last week were the first reported to be killed since the 19,000 soldiers deployed.

As of Tuesday, at least 1,464 members of the U.S. military have died since March 2003.

I am glad it was not Charlie. But I am praying for those soldiers family.

Tragic accident. May have deaths but the war is justified. But I still worry about Charlie over there.

Godspeed to him and all the troops. This is sad. Give him a message of thanks and good luck from us all, when you get the chance!

Really sucks what's happening out in Iraq. I honor the soldiers. I'll pray for Charlie, and of course everyone else over there. Tell him he'd better get back so that I can beat him on Call of Duty

Ok sure thing. I will tell him next time he calls. He called me today YAY!!!!!! I thought I wouldn't hear from him. he is very busy too.
He said he was putting armor on vehicles and they are moving to a different camp in Iraq. So it will be a few more days before he calls again.
