I definately agree. Character development and richness of DS9 was above all others. I know more about minor characters than some main characters of other shows.

For example... Garak, Rom, Jake, Nog, Kai Winn we know more about than Gordi, Tom Paris, H. Kim, Troi... how many others?

Starships go out looking 4 adventure, Whilst DS9 with it's wormhole holds station and the adventure come to it. So both get the job done.

I think DS9 carrys its load just as good as a starship does.It has great defenses, and cares for the wounded just like a starship, as well as attractions and trading posts, and most of all it is a home to alot of people, so in alot of areas it is similar to a starship.

I can see DS9 being a battlestation or starbase, but not a starship.I never thought in a million years DS9 would be a cardassian outpost/spacestation (terik nor).
