This episode was a little better than the one last week; however, I still do not think it met ordinary ENT standards that we have come to expect with the cliffhangers, it was still a pretty good episode though.

Compared to last week's episode... this was VERY GOOD! Overall, 3/4 stars. This episode gives us a perspective of being on the other side of the "prime directive."

Incidentally, Trip's "last deep heavy breathing" at the end is what you see in real life when higher brain functions are gone and your medulla is left to try and keep your vital functions going. It was a very sad and very intense scene. Good job writers!

Yeah, it was better than last weeks, but I still didnt like it. I thought it was lame how they just randomly took over peoples bodies and stuff. How very lame. And the use of the Organians? Youve got to be kidding me. Ruin star trek completely why dont you?

I thought it was actually kinda cool how they were able to do that. Shows how powerful the Organians were. They were a cool species. Does anyone know how First Contact with the Organians were? Was it like this or did ENT ruin it?

As far as I can recall, 'recorded' first contact with the Organians occurs next in the 23rd century. I forget the name of the TOS episode off the top of my head, but it was pretty good

Indeed, I found this a very rewarding episode. It reminds me of the season 1 and 2 material the writers churned out before that unbearable season 3 storyline. Although season 4 has been a plethora of nice stories that fill in some of the gaps in Trek lore, I must admit that the use of three-episode story arcs is rather tiring after awhile.

You're right HH. The episode with the Human and Klingons on the Organian planet. Now that I think of it....isn't that where they revelead they were non corporeal? Aw man....ENT you ruined it.

Lol!

Yeah i thought the episode was REALLY well done. It beats quite a few of the recent new ones, but its still not up there with some. Very well done, with some random humor in it too. I really liked it. I hope the next one is as good!

You can't even begin to say it was that bad. I mean, no one on Enterprise knows who they are, so it's not like it's "breaking the actual first contact" And we already knew from TOS that the Organians were noncorporeal, or whatever the exact word is, so it's not like it couldn't be possible, and they didn't just Randomly take over peoples bodies, if you pay attention to the episode, they strategically pick who would be the best for them to inhabit at the moment, and all of the memories of the person during this time are eliminated. So I really don't see the merit to your argument.

I think it was a very good episode, ranks right up there with the Vulcan arc, maybe even better.

HEY I liked the ep and like others have pointed out it isn't "first contact" they don't even remember them... its more like a pre cursor to the tos ep and besides I don't want them to cancel Enterprise it had its short comings but all shows do overall it wasn't half bad geez

Kuro-chan rating

7/10

The episode comprised a relatively basic story: Crew members get infected, while others are infested by alien entities, Doctor tries to treat infected crew, yadda yadda. The unique twists were that the Doctor and Captain failed them, and only through the Organians did they actually survive.

What impressed me was not the storyline but how it was implemented. The story managed to seriously involve all 7 characters, not just the usual trio. I had to admit it was kinda weird seeing Hoshi and Travis actually get some serious lines and opportunities to show off on the screen. I had that "It's about time" kind of feeling.

One scene I enjoyed was when Dr. Phlox watched Hoshi and Tucker having a serious discussion in the decon chamber, when he knew for a fact they were heavily sedated. Afterwards, the Organians realized they were being watched and switched bodies to Archer and T'Pol so they could repair the damage they did by being discovered. Phlox uncovered their intentions and challenged their ethics, but the Organians simply altered his memory of the experience and moved on to continue their observations.

Archer chatting with the Organians about the meaning of being human was, I felt, a true Trek Moment, that sometimes sacrificing the little things of humanity to try and become something better is not necessarily worth it, especially if those little things help to define you as a unique person.

The way it was handled, in my books, could compare with great Trek episodes, like Trouble with Tribbles. The only area if suffered in was the overly simple plot design.

I saw the last five minutes. It had Malcom and Travis walking around saying all this weird stuff "We'll have to wait for the humans". It confused me. I've given up on Enterprise after the whole Nazi thing confused me

Well, watching the whole episode generally leads to a better understanding of the episode. I don't blame you for being confused if you only saw the last part, because it's all explained throughout the episode.

I hate it when you have to watch the whole of an episode... I'm one of these impatient people who can work out the plotline of most shows in the last fifteen minutes.
