At first I was a little disappointed when I heard the rumors about the Romulan War trilogy, but now that Ive been to the Starfleet Museum Web-sit, and have seen all of the tor-cool first and second generation UES (United Earth Systems) starships, involved in the Romulan War, I will be extremely disappointed if they dont make the trilogy. I will be more than disappointed, I will be down right p****d! I was under the impression that it would be an Enterprise movie, but captain Archer probably isnt even out of grade school yet. I think a pre-fleet movie will be an awesome change, it will be a WWI submarine movie in space! Visit the 'Romulan War Wing' at the Museum site and see for yourself!

While your ideas are cool, the Romulan Wars technically DO occur AFTER Enterprise. The museum site is inaccurate there. I believe the Enterprise even encounters the Romulans for the first time in the series. However, a trilogy would be great.

Also, the site says

Quote:
DAEDALUS class exploratory cruiser enters service. (August)

The Daedalus class is made around Kirk's time.

This site is full of inaccuracies.

Then they need to update the museum site because Enterprise changed every thing. The Romulan War is supposed to be pre-fleet! Do you know how many web-sites will have to be completely changed?! Why cant the writers stick to the original timeline! This totally sucks, big time!

Not according to TOS, the Daedalus class was a very old design, in fact, in TOS we should have had starships since the late 1990s. TOS doesnt seem to be cannon anymore, that is very wrong!

I believe that TOS is cannon. You know its not to late for ENT? They could have another timeline change that makes TOS the proper history. Of course if they dont, we could still decide that ENT is just an alternate timeline in itself that can never affect Star Trek proper. I was so looking forward the Battle of Hell's Gate in the Romulan War.

Well god damn all the engineers and scientists of this day and age to hell for not inventing starships according to when a 1960's television show said they would!!

Yeah...This is a major reason why I don't watch Enterprise. The timeline.

You know, TOS might actually already be coming true. For all we know, the government might already be flying around the solar system in top-secret, short-range starships. According to Scotty, the early starships were powered by the same methods as our modern battleships and aircraft carriers. Remember, maximum impulse is just below the sped of light, thats still pretty fast, and fast enough to reach Alpha-Centaury. In only a hundred years we could have the fusion powered warp drive used at the beginning of the Romulan War, and the Romulan War leads to Matter/Anti-Matter powered warp drive and the eventual formation of Starfleet. I still want to see a movie about the UESN (United Earth Systems Navy) and their tor-cool nuclear powered, submarine starships.

That would be cool. However, technically First Contact is not achieved until 2063, and we've got to keep that in perspective.

Their probably just flying around our own solar system, and with no warp fields yet, the Vulcans wont detect them until 2063. Hopefully Ill still be alive then to see it happen.

Sadly, ENT has erased it from existence, Starfleets rich pre-TOS history has been reduced to a pitiful whimper.

United Earth Nations couldn't happen until after Warp Discovery anyways, though. Remember the factions told in First Contact?

Check it out, even Voyager got it right! (UESPA-1) The Friendship Probes were launched by the United Earth Systems Probe Agency after ENT. The UESPA became Starfleet after ENT, after the Romulan War!

PostThu Feb 09, 2006 4:19 pm    Hi

Im new but I saw this and I had to comment

Im actually working on a roleplay game based on the Romulan War WIng of the museum.

My story idea is this:

U.E.S. PIONEER CH-29
In the early 2150s, the United Earth Stellar Navy (UESN) saw the need for a long-range cruiser to escort convoys of transports, which had recently been victimized by commerce raiders in the Orion sector.

The year is 2154, the result is the Pioneer Class Cruiser, equipt with weaponry including Spider area-defense missiles, Narwhal long-range antiship missiles, and a twin-laser turret, essentially a "Flying Fortress" capable of defending and escorting any convoy of transports.

The link is in my website.

Not many seem to be interested...but it is the TRUE timeline in my view and Enterprise was a mistake and has badly distorted the truth..

I will vote YES for a Romulan War Series.

Eh, I understand everyone being so adament about the pre-TOS timeline being the more canon one, but at the same time, I think Trek is trying to modify the pre-TOS timeline to match today's actual timeline. While I agree that they shouldn't just for the mere fact that ENT was stupid and ruined all continuity, it makes some sense that Trek history match today's present topics.

NO MORE PRE-KIRK MOVIES!!! Not until they can get their facts straight and realise that it's not gonna sell...Now, if they get their facts straight, then it just might be an okay idea, but until then, it's just gonna be another flop.
