No, what we did there was RIGHT.
And what about my second thing? OIL FOR FOOD. The BIGGEST thing.

I dont know anything about Oil For Food, so I ignored it. I dont want to make a stupid uninformed comment.

2. The Oil for Food scandle: Jacques Chirac CONSTINUOUSLY and RELENTLESSLY attempted to appease Saddam and keep him in power, while getting rewards.
Some ally. Helping an enemy of their allies. And abusing a system that was supposed to HELP the people.

Since when did Jacques Chirac become 'France'? He may be the leader of that country, but is not possibly France incarnate, eh.

I am still ignorant as to the entire 'Oil For Food' scandal thing so I can't make an informed comment on that.

I'm boycotting France to show my dislike toward the government, sorry. I have little against the actual PEOPLE.
Oil for Food: Saddam was given UN money (over $21 m/billion (can't remember which) to feed his people, as well as food separatly. However, Saddam abused it, under the Un's nose. They KNEW it. And who else knew it? The French government. Germany, etc. They ALL played a part. But who played the biggest part? France. They got the BIGGEST bribes to push to get rid of the sanctions, etc, and in turn would be given pipelines and more. There's more to it than that.

Oooooh! Ooooooh! I forgot about this! Not just the Government... I forget the author's name, but a FRENCH AUTHOR wrote a book charging that American agents staged 9/11. And it became a bestseller! And this is TRUE! I've seen an INTEVIEW with this guy!
John Gibson's book "Hating America: The New World Sport" will state that "most French people will cheerfully admit to being anti-American." And polls prove this.
"The hypocrisy of French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin: the secret, unilateral international adventure he undertook while railing against America's action in Iraq" (Something that his book will talk about)

No, I meant I'd actually have to learn about it . . . you're basically just giving me the gist of your interpretation.

Besides, don't spread the hate, spread the love Forgiveness breeds allies, not grudges. France will not become your ally if you continue to complain. I'm not saying you should automatically start warming up to them, but blatant anti-France attitudes are just as bad as blatant anti-American ones.

Anyway . . . in French class today we learned the correct way of saying peanut butter, and my teacher told us that in France, there is no domestic peanut butter. She wasn't sure if they imported it, or if France was utterly devoid of peanut butter. Anyway:

Soooo?

Most Canadian people will cheerfully admit that they like to make fun of Americans, and that they dislike Bush.

Indeed, get over it. I'm not saying that blatantly stating their hatred of Americans or Bush is necessarily right. ::casts a glance at Parrish::

Yet I don't see you boycotting Canada. Don't blame us for not being involved in the Oil for Food scandal, it's not our fault that we don't have international power!

You weren't in it NEAR the amount of France, and that's my big beef with them. Oh, and they support a higher international tax. I don't like that either.

(40%, approximately, of Canadian teens think America is evil. The "Canadian Free Press" stated this. Site: http://zzpat.tripod.com/cvb/june_2004/40_percent_canadian_teens_think_us_is_evil.html, and I believe this is common, if not MORE common, in France)

America needs better propaganda, and better PR obviously. This wouldn't happen if you controlled the French media!

Seriously, a lot of it is media related. Don't blame it on the teens, teens are impressionable creatures who like to conform to the mainstream attitude (and then 'rebel', how contradictory).

You must introduce American propaganda subtly into the French media and begin spreading your messages that way.

Canadians are ignorant about America (although I have a feeling that we are less ignorant about America than America is about Canada). You need to control our media more. Admittedly you relegated CTV and CBC to the dust heaps, but they've got this 'reality TV' thing to back them up, plus CTV has started carrying E.R. if I'm not mistaken, so you need to watch your back.

We don't even control the VAST VAST majority of the American media.

And either way, that wouldn't work. They are anti-US too much.

No, I am not pushing hatred, and I don't mean to say it against the people--just the government which has helped America's enemies more than any other nation of our so-called "allies." This is the best way to stand against the government. --EDIT--I see no other way to go against the government--a government of a so-called "ally" which has HELPED OUR ENEMIES! Although Russia IS close behind.

Its not your place to go against any government. You are no politician. And also, when you say boycott france, you are talking about the entire nation. And half of canada. You cant get around that.

Yes, it IS my place. If I am a citizen of my country, and I don't like how another country has acted to us, then I will SO do this.
I just mean France, and I buy and using NOTHING from France. And I know, but it's the BEST way to stand against the government. But since when are politicians the only people who can do that?

No, youre being ignorant. Completely ignorant. You go ahead and boycott France. You know what good it will do? ABSOLUTELY NONE. Does France care that some little kid wont buy their stuff because hes being ignorant? NO. Go ahead, make no difference.

And vegetarians boycotting meat is much different? It doesn't change much, but they do anyway. There are others boycotting France. So, RM doesn't want to support that government. It won't change much alone, but he's taking a stand the only way he can, with others in support. I agree with it. France gave us the proverbial finger in what they did in the U.N.

As for the topic--United Europe--I see it happening quite soon, and I think it's just another step towards world government and uniformity. Neither of which I like. But oh well, they may do as they like. It was bound to happen eventually.

Oh...my...gosh! No, no! O'Reilly lays out a good case, I take it into account, and say, "Yeah, I agree with this," or "No, I don't agree with this" (which happens a lot lately). I happen to agree with his French feelings (and it is NOT hatred) and joined his boycott. I do NOT listen to his "gospel," and he is NO REPUBLICAN! You know, someone has to start something, and Bill started this boycott. It has to start somewhere.

"Good Little Republicans" wouldn't listen to O'Reilly on everything, he leans too far left sometimes. And he didn't tell anyone to hate France, he presented his opinion, and used facts to back it up. I'm mad at France, and I never listen/watch O'Reilly. I see what they've done, and it's not pleasant.

--EDIT-- RM, I know, said most of the stuff I just did. Happened to post at the same time, one must note. *cough* Anyhow.
