PostFri Jan 14, 2005 5:10 pm    The United States...of Europe!

This idea is not as farfetches as one would think! The United States of Eurore is on its way. They have already come together economically, with a economic parliament in Brussels (Netherlands), and just need to come together politically. This is going to happen, all parties have essentially agreed, and are taking small strides toward it. They will have the coolest thing ever, a REGIONAL WORLD GOVERNMENT.

Excited much?

No. If the UK does that, then we will lose the UK, and that's no good. They're our best of friends.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrreeeeeee.....They DON'T dislike America. Sure, whatever. That's just not true, and France is no good ally, and just because our troops are in their hospitals doesn't mean much.

Indeed, I think a politically unified Europe would probably be better in the long term for the world. Europe is a pretty small place . . . instead of having all those sovereign nations squabbling over land, resources, and TV channels, they could combine those resources and TV channels.

Perhaps not a completely united nation, after all, but have an overall European parliament in some place, with that parliament dealing with international affairs while each member nation continues to administrate within its own country.

Not attacking us, sure. But that doesn't mean there isn't much anti-American sentiment there. And YES, they ARE disagreeing with us! Can you not see that!
Again, Boycott France.

TV Channels, ROFL.

I think its an important step to unifying the world. As it stands now, they have a free trade market setup, so all the nations of Europe can trade without tariffs, and they can travel without visas. Its very effecient. I expect the world will divide up into these regional world governments more in the coming 100 years or so.

This is the future people.

But then the UK wouldn't have had been allowed to go into Iraq That's not good.

Oh MY God! That is NOTHING in comparison to that! DO NOT EVEN COMPARE IT TO THAT!!!!! When the government of France screws the US, we should boycott them to get the government to be kinder. I do NOT hate France--I just don't like what they've been doig.

What did France ever do?

So they disagreed with you . . . that's the point, eh. If no one disagrees with you, then you know you're doing something wrong. The only good thing I can think of about the way nationalities are set up right now is that it is a sort of international 'check and balance' system, in that constant opposition continuously forces countries to reevaluate their goals. Through adversity, one triumphs, not through unopposed action.

Yeah, really. France had the courage to stand up to George W Bush when he was leading his little campaign in Iraq, and now France hates America? ITS CALLED CRITICISM.

And yes, its very true. What the hell did France ever do to us? No attacks. No slander. No boycotts. NOTHING.

And I will compare it to anything I want. Youre just a hater man, and its really sad to see.

No, no, no. They've SCREWED us in multiple ways. Not to mention they worked with Saddam in the Oil for Food corruption scandle.

So I'm racist against more than 10% of myself? Right. Just because I see France as an anti-American nation and am supporting a boycott of it makes me RACIST? Typical Liberal.

I need specifics. Due to the inefficiency of our Ontario education system, compulsory history in elementary school only deals with Canadian history up until World War I, and the only compulsory course in high school is 20th century Canadian history.

Although I'm familiar with some aspects of world history, late 20th century is not my milieu.

No, I am NOT. Just because I am supporting a boycott of a country that is DEFINITELY Anti-American makes me RACIST? That's CRAP.

The key things, Tach are 2:
1. Iraq. They didn't help us AT ALL.
2. The Oil for Food scandle: Jacques Chirac CONSTINUOUSLY and RELENTLESSLY attempted to appease Saddam and keep him in power, while getting rewards.
Some ally. Helping an enemy of their allies. And abusing a system that was supposed to HELP the people.

So what if they didnt help us with Iraq? What we did there was wrong, and they had the courage to tell us so. Tons of other nations didnt help us. We didnt get any troops from Mexico, are they a horrible ally?

No, what we did there was RIGHT.
And what about my second thing? OIL FOR FOOD. The BIGGEST thing.

Since when did Jacques Chirac become 'France'? He may be the leader of that country, but is not possibly France incarnate, eh.

I am still ignorant as to the entire 'Oil For Food' scandal thing so I can't make an informed comment on that.
