Geneva Convention Article 4 wrote: |
2. Members of other militias and members of other volunteer corps, including those of organized resistance movements, belonging to a Party to the conflict and operating in or outside their own territory, even if this territory is occupied, provided that such militias or volunteer corps, including such organized resistance movements, fulfil the following conditions:
(a) That of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates;
(b) That of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance;
(c) That of carrying arms openly;
(d) That of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war.

This fits under the section on "Prisoners of War"
There's more that fits the current resistance fighters in Iraq, but they are long and lenghthy and I must work in the morning. |
We're not necessarily talking in Iraq, but terrorists in general. They do NOT fit under the Geneva Convention.

Read the Geneva Convention.
They throw terrorists into another category, but they do fit under the convention laws.

(a) That of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates;
Osama is responsible for his subordinates? He tells them to blow themselves up while he hides in a cave. Nope.
(b) That of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance;
Whats the sign? Nope.
(c) That of carrying arms openly;
Do bombs count?
(d) That of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war
WRONG! I don't even need to explain this. They murder innocents!
