I have a friend who has lost someone close to her during the summer, and I know of another person who has lost someone close them a few days ago. So I decided to write this poem, dedicated to the people who've lost someone in their lives.
Which way does the wind blow this stormy eve?
On which side of the twilight sky holds the answer to this mystery?
The questions that we ask, entombing us in sorrow,
Setting sun resigns, will it rise again tomorrow?
Calm blue ocean, now turbulence infects the tide,
Freezing snowdrifts freeze the tears from our eyes.
What is there to this life, why can it all be taken away,
The ones that love us, leaving our faith to decay?
One wish is all we have, to bring back those who weve lost,
One thing that we want, no matter what the price, the cost.
To hear them speak again, it really would be bliss,
To hear them laugh again, the sound we ever so miss.
Summer rays of forgotten days,
Seep through the cracks of our brain.
But warmth cannot be felt,
The cruelest hand of fate weve been dealt.
On a sea of emotion, hearts sway endlessly,
Into the fog, we look to see
A beacon in the distance to guide our path,
To new days, where we engage in smiles and laughs.
And while were never the same, we continue on,
With a whisper in our hearts, a love that longs.
We keep alive the memories of those in our hearts,
As the sun embraces the sky as a new day starts.
