As you put it, you are a "close-minded idiot." Yes, I see that I was wrong. But backing down? Sure, however you want to put it.

Oh my gosh! You just do NOT understand where I'm coming from! And no, I would not want to start an inquisition That was a dark time for my religion in the past, and they were wrong to do so. I'll just let God sort out that punishment.

With the exception of Bahais no1 considers Muhammad Ibn Abdullah to be Divine.
And Gautauma Siddharta (The Buddha) never historically claimed to be God, he was a Hindu. So I don't see you offending anyone aside from the Religious Sect or Cult- Bahai'ism.

Oh sheesh. Anyone can state their beliefs, grow up, get over it.
And Sean's right. Nobody has really ever claimed for Abdullah or Siddharta to be divine. Or so we all learned in 9th grade global,

We didn't study anything remotely to do with religion in ninth grade We got geography, but not a lot of it was focused on religion within cultures . . . there might be a course offered with more religion in geography for grade 11 but of course it would be optional.
Muwahahaha! My ignorant Ontario education and I.

oK. I don't want to do this but what just happened there was not right. I'm giving out 3 warnings to Defiant, Republican_Man and Lionhead. People should have the freedom of speech, but if someone is ignoring this there is no need to start attacking them because they aren't agreeing to this. Also stuff such as Quote: | man, i knew RM was annoying but nothingl ike this. He just wouldn't stop huh..... | is clearly a personal attack, which isn't allowed in the rules. Thankyou to those who tried to stop it, especially Exalya.

1 warning each. I misinterpreted it. It's understandable, despite my after-attempts to move on. But there's no need for that.
Now...
LET'S GET BACK ON TOPIC!

Yes. I always wondered if people other than atheists need and/or want too find proof of god? Or are there christians that have searched for the physical evidence?

Atheists by definition don't want proof. Atheists are as convinced that God does not exist as Christians are that God does exist. Those who are just doubtful are Agnostics.
I'm sure there are some Christians. Technically I was raised Christian, but I'm not extremely devout and take everything very lightly. I might say I'm an open-minded Agnostic . . .

There's a guy named Arnold Murray who is both an archaeologist and renowned pastor--he likes using physical evidence to make documentaries explaining exactly why he believes what he does.

Oh we learnt about him in Philosophy. Pretty wierd how he put forward one of the best arguments for the non existence of God and then turns into a believer.

That's actually really cool. I'd be curious to know more about him and what exactly he teaches.

You can watch him through Realplayer or Windows Media. He's a little blunt, and very southern-y, but he knows what he's talking about.

You only say that because he did something you approve of. If he was still an atheist, you wouldnt say anything of the sort.

No. I mean he knows scripture. He's a student of Greek and Hebrew, and he knows the bible inside-out. Of course I wouldn't say that about an atheist--why would an atheist want to know what the parable of the fig tree meant? And when it comes to archaeology, he knows a lot. Whether or not you like what he believes about what he knows, is up to you. It would be difficult to argue that he knows nothing about what he teaches, because he does, regardless of what the message is. I would say that Darwin knew what he was talking about too, but I don't agree with him.
And when you say 'still an atheist', you assume he was one. I'm not sure about that, but I'm talking about a guy named Dr. Murray, not the guy that this topic is about.

He knew hebrew and greek and the bible previously, when he was an atheist. Would you say that about him then? No.
Basically, your statement holds no value.

Was Murray an atheist, ever? I don't think so. I've never looked into it. And no, I couldn't say a non-Christian would know what he's talking about, if he's trying to be a pastor! I'm not going to ask an atheist to explain what Paul meant when he wrote Corinthians if the guy didn't even believe in Jesus. Come on. I think you need to re-read my post. I'm not talking about the guy who this topic was created about.
