Yea really... I say, though, that they should lower the salaries gradually, not just suddenly cut them to nearly 25% of what they were making.

And 1 of them happens to have the most history out of any NHL team in the league... You guessed it! The Montreal Canadiens! (24 Stanley Cups! )
But yeah, it's a big strike, NHL wants a salary cap, NHLPA doesnt, NHLPA offered luxary tax, NHL declined... Its just back and forth idea from one side, rejection form the other.. VERY ANNOYING! I WANT MY HOCKEY!

I thought it started in the US though? I was told it started with a US team and sort of spread all over the place.

lol, Ziona... Hockey was invented in Canada. We took lacross and altered it to hockey! The original 6 teams consisted of 2 Canadian teams.
Montreal Canadiens
Toronto Maple Leafs
Boston Bruins
Detroit Redwings
Chigago Blackhawks
New York Rangers
But yeah, hockey is definately Canadian.
