PostSat Dec 04, 2004 1:49 am    Missed Episodes (Please Help!!!)

OMGoodness, I'm so mad right now. I just got a new job at a jewish shule doing janitorial work, and i have to be there every friday and saturday to turn on lights and do other miscellanious jobs that the jewish people cannot do on the sabboth. Because of this I've not been able to see the last three episodes of Enterprise (maybe more than that, the last one i saw was the last one Brent Spiner was on). Also, I've been extremely tired when I get home from my church on Sunday afternoons (I get there early and set up a program called Media Shout which allows me to project the lyrics to worship songs onto a screen at the front of my church's sanctuary). As a result of my exhaustion I have not been able to see the any of the re-aired episodes of Enterprise on Sundays, because I fall asleep as soon as I get home and I usually don't wake up until after most people would be going to bed.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could give me any information on what has been going on with the series. (I heard that a major character was killed off, if it was Maywheather I'm going to be extremely pissed!!!) Or if anyone has information on when these episodes are going to be played again I would be very grateful.

Much love to anyone who reads all this crap, and even more to anyone who can address my concerns. Sorry about any miss- spellings or any punctuation errors, as I said I am extremely tired. (Shi t I have to get up at 7:00 tommarow to go to the Shule)

Hello Robbie,

I don't want to ruin anything for you, but I can tell you that the three episode arch about the Vulcans has been extremely good.

If you are unable to watch the show at its aired time, I would suggest using a VCR, TiVo, or using your computer to record your show. People make recordings all the time of "TV Shows" in case they miss the original airtime. If you want to record something, you can do it in digital format using your computer because it is higher quality.

If you want to record ("tape") and watch recordings on your computer, you will need a video codec installed. I suggest you get "Koepi's XviD 1.0.2 codec." If you don't know where to get this free codec, then try a search on "google.com." When you do find a place to download the free software, you might need a "bit torrent" client, like "ABC (Yet Another Bittorrent Client) because it allows people to download high demand files like free Xvid codecs from multiple sources at once and thus makes it faster than getting it from one source.

I don't know the step by step process of recording on your computer, as I have never done it... but using google to search for instructions I found a USATODAY article mentioning "Others come from tech-savvy users who have turned their computers into personal video recorders like TiVo." Here is the original link: http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/techinnovations/2003-09-17-tv-downloads_x.htm

I have not read the article, since it does not apply to me. I only provide it because of a google result on the subject of using your computer as a digital VCR. I can not verify the claims of the article to be true and I am in no way promoting any actions that are deemed unethical or illegal under the laws of your country regarding modifications or other actions you may or may not decide to do with the knowledge provide in this post. Any information provided by USATODAY, is their responsibility. My information, including links, should be taken as purely academic.

I'd say save yourself all the trouble, and just get a VCR. Reruns start soon, I believe.
