And stable! I used to have this computer on windows and linux, and windows crahed maybe once every week or so. In all the time I used Linux it never did it once. The only problem is there is hardly any programs for linux that are readily available. Then the computer went and had a huge crash and I never got round to redoing linux.

Yeah nothing beats open source.
Windows only crashes because of the gooses that install heaps of evil stuff and infect their computer with spyware and all the other non sense rubbish.

I hadn't actually downloaded stuff then, but it was when windows XP had just come out, and had no updates so the problems in the language wouldn't have been sorted out then. And I do have spyware and virus scanners that are updated and run frequently,

Thats not true. Windows just isn't a good program.
I once had that i started my competer and each time Windows started up a blue screen came with a whole bunch of nonsense on it. Then i opened windows up in Safe-Mode(funny that a program needs a Safe-Mode) and i shut some standard windows things off and it worked again... This came all out of nowhere and without those extra's that windows has my Computer still works fine... So why the hell did it have that?

Yeah, that is a problem. But, they're probably working on it. I'm using something similar to Linux right now, it's called Knoppix, and since the computer I'm on has XP and is bugged, I can just plug this thing in and it works fine
