Alright... Explanation time!
(These are my favorite Movies, so I get to do this)

There will be NO spoilers here. Just what you'd find on the back cover of the movie.

The Evil Dead (Pure B-Movie Horror)

Tagline: The Ultimate Experience In Grueling Terror or Can They Be Stopped?

Story: Five friends travel to a cabin in the woods, There they find the Necronomicon Ex Mortus, The book of the dead. Unknowingly they Release demons into the world. Now they must fight them off till dawn.

The Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn (B-Movie Horror/Comedy)

Tagline: Kiss Your Nerves Good-Bye!, 2 Terrifying. 2 Frightening. 2 Much!, The Sequel To The Ultimate Experience In Grueling Terror and The Comedy/Horror of the Decayed (Pun: "Decade" for those who didn't get it, this one is my personal favorite)

Story: This is a sequal/remake. instead of the 5 friends, Ash brings his girlfriend up to the cabin and accidently releases demons upon the world. Now with 4 strangers he must send the evil back to where it came or be dead by dawn.

The Evil Dead 3 - AKA Army of Darkness. (100% Comedy)
Tagline: Sound the trumpets, Raise the drawbridge, and drop the Oldsmobile, They move. They breathe. They suck, 1 Man, 1 Million dead, The odds are just about even or Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas (My personal favorite)

Story Line: At the end of ED2 ash gets sucked through a vortex. Stuck back in time with His Olds, Chainsaw and trusty Boomstick, Ash must find a way to get back the Necronomicon, Defeat the Army of Darkness and Find his way home.

The Evil Dead 4

A dream that every Evil Dead fan wishs will one day be a reality.[/img]

I, unfortunately, have seen Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness. I'm not planning on watchin Evil Dead 1 anytime soon, though. I'd say it was one of the weirdest movies I have ever seen.

I thought The Evil Dead was one of the scariest horror movies of the 80's. I was about 13 when I first saw it and it scared the pants off me. I'll never forget that horrible thing in the cellar and those EYES when the girls were possessed.

I wasn't overkeen on The Evil Dead 2. Judged purely as a comedy and on it's own merits, it isn't too bad. But I was not pleased with the way we went from disturbing horror (first movie) to comedy horror (second movie). Mind you, the comedy got even worse in the third movie.

Still, nothing can tarnish the memory of the first movie.

sorry for making a double post, these are great movies, part 2 is more or less a sequal then remake, apparently the person who made evil dead possible (sam remi) could not get the rights to use footage from the first fil to recap hence teh "re-make" edge to it

I thought Army of Darkness was very funny... I didn't really see any of the Evil Dead movies...Or maybe just a little part.

There were rumours doing the rounds awhile back that New Line Cinema wanted to team up with Raimi and Campbell to do a Freddy VS Jason VS Ash movie. I don't think Raimi and Campbell were too keen on the idea, though.

Personally, as fun as it may be, I don't know if the two universes could cross. It doesn't always work.

I can imagine him against Leatherface, though. What a contest that would be. Chainsaw VS Chainsaw!

Yeah, but remember, Ash isn't just limited to the Chainsaw.

"Good... Bad... I'm the Guy with the Gun."

I still remember the rumors about the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. Bruce has been quoted saying, "If you believe that, I've got some great ocean side property in Pheonix I'd love to sell you."

Here's a really cool flash preview of the movie that they wanted.

Cheers for the link, Link.

Yes, the movie isn't happening. Raimi and Campbell don't want it. New Line Cinema want another Freddy VS Jason movie to capitalize on box office receipts - but Ash isn't going to be in it.
