Wed Dec 01, 2004 6:06 pm Countdown to Christmas! |
|
It's just 24 days until Christmas and 23 days until Christmas Eve! I love Christmas Eve more, just because of the feeling, etc, but Christmas time is always nice. Anyways, commence the countdown, drink your hot cocoa, don't pout, and have a HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS!

Thank you.
But yeah, what are all your feelings about Christmas?
Whoo-hoo to Jesus? Yay Presents! It's just a lousy excuse for Presents, etc.

...I like Christmas more for being able to have an excuse for going back to where I used to live. The presents don't matter much, it's just being able to go home and be with my family.

If you don't believe in Christmas, then fine. Frankly, that's up to you.

I would rather give a thousand presents than recieve any at all. I'm one of those people that would spend my entire savings on my friends. It's a bad thing more often than not b/c i'll be at the store and be like "oh, so and so would love this!" GRR! I have like no money this year though to get people stuff and i feel absolutly HORRIBLE. I've got a ton of stuff that i've made in my ceramics class, so people will be getting ceramic items, but other than that, i'mnot sure what to do! Maybe i'll find something cute to make for everyone.

Bah, I don't believe in religion but Christmas is my favourite holiday!
So many awesome decorations and carols and lights and cutting down a tree while drinking hot chocolate, then putting the tree up and decorating it! Then having all my family come over to Christmas.... :p
I turn 18 3 days after Christmas too Dec 28th

^Forgive me, but I strongly believe that if you don't believe in Jesus, then you should NOT celebrate Christmas AT ALL. And that's that.
--EDIT--
I believe that it is hijacking a religion, not like the terrorists, but still hijacking, for personal gain. It's not right.

December 25th isn't even Jesus' real birthday. No one knows what day it is so they put it on some old religious holiday.
And some of my family is somewhat religious. Im the most athiest in my family as far as I know....

1. I know it's not the EXACT day, but it's the day chosen to celebrate the Birth of the Song Of Man.
If the rest of your family is religious and believes, then I'll accept it. But if you and one or two others are athiest, then no.

Unfortunately, many aspects of Christmas have been muddled to the point that in a lot of ways, it's no longer religious. Kind of like Easter, which isn't religious AT ALL. Christmas trees are, in fact, a pagan tradition...as is Cupid, and the Easter Bunny. But go figure.

RM IS SCROUGE! SCROUGE I SAY! BRING OUT THE 3 GHOSTS!!!!
My family is not religious. My dad believes in God I think.... He goes to church on the 24th usually. My mom believes that "something" is out there. Not sure where the rest of my family stands. Whatever. I celebrate Christmas and I don't care whether you like it or not.

lol, yeah, but it's all FROM and ABOUT religion. And Easter is DEFINITELY more religious than Christmas. We hardly do anything other than religion at that time of year. Given Christmas is commercialized WAY too much and is somewhat loosing it's meaning to, say Santa, or Presents, or "Family," when it IS, in actuality, about Jesus. But TV channels can't say that. Well, sure they can, but they won't. Either way, it's about religion, and without it it wouldn't even be around. Don't celebrate it if you don't believe. Cupid is crap, btw.

But JESUS. --EDIT-- If your mom doesn't believe in Jesus, then no. --END EDIT-- You can, fine, but I think you shouldn't.
