Alright!!! Another year, a 5th championship hope shaddered for Jeff Gordon. I would like to say that this Sunday's race at Homestead-Miami Speedway was most awesome indeed, and so close at the end of the day. I mean, just 8 points seperated Kurt Busch (2004 Nascar NEXTEL CUP Champ) from Jimmie Johnson (2nd place). Well, congratulations to Kurt Busch for winning his first title (I was routing for him) and I can't wait for next year's great races to see who the '05 Champ will be (hopefully Dale Earnhardt Jr. will also have a beter year   ).
Here's how the final standings turned out:
1.) Kurt Busch Leader
2.) Jimmie Johnson -8
3.) Jeff Gordon -16
4.) Mark Martin -107
5.) Dale Earnhardt Jr. -138
6.) Tony Stewart -180
7.) Ryan Newman -326
8.) Matt Kenseth -437
9.) Elliott Sadler -482
10.) Jeremy Mayfield -506

Yay for NASCAR, tis way less boring than our Formula 1. The cars are cooliest.

They are both boring, but at least with Forumla 1 there is some skill involved. Come on, just driving round a giant oval shaped track?
Anyway, British Superbikes is far superior to these two.

Have you ever driven a racecar at any level? Formula One is like driving huge Go Karts, they stick to the surface of the track like glue. The tires on a F1 car are nearly twice as wide as the tires on a NASCAR car. The F1 cars also way half as much as NASCAR car. F1 cars also have traction control, to control sliding in the corners.
Driving in an oval is extremely difficult, when you're driving a heavy ill-handling car. I've driven Mini-Stock racecars at my local dirt oval, and it is not easy.

Did you have anything constructive to post in this topic, or did you just come here to put down a sport that some people happen to enjoy?
Tut, Jr. got fifth this year, still that is pretty good I suppose  .

I agree, I posted this topic for others like myself that enjoy NASCAR to see how this year ended up...not start a war on which is better.
Don't worry, I feel confident that the '05 champ will be Jr. or sometime soon at least

Yeah, and not to mention all the crashes you have to avoid with that ill handling car. If ya start in the back...it's going to be one long day.

I am merely posting my opinion on the sport. I can do that can't I, post my opinion on something?
And no, I haven't driven a racecar at any level. I'm using a bit of common sense here and predicting what it would be like. Here's what I predict:
Driving a car round an oval shaped track is easier than driving a car round a, well, a far more irregular shaped track. The speeds of both sports seem the same, but I suppose we'll have to take into account the advanced technology in Formula 1. I'm just assuming that LightningBoy is correct in his analysis of Nascar cars.
Although again I'm going to have to assume that driving in mud is going to be more difficult than a pristine track for professionals (I take it by dirt you do indeed mean dirt).
But all this is moot, because as I say, I firmly believe that Superbikes are better anyway.
