PostThu Nov 18, 2004 2:27 pm    X-Men 3

None of us know if there will be a third X-Men movie, now that Bryan Singer is out of the picture. It's a possibility but nothing has been greenlit.

I was never a big fan of X-Men comics. The storylines were always convoluted and complicated and as time went on, it became a book so full of continuity (and alternate timelines), that I gave up. It had it's moments but overall, not my cup of tea.

However, I thought Bryan Singer did a good job with the first two movies, condensing so much history into two movies. I hope we see a third movie and I have my own ideas about who should be in it.

I definitely want Gambit. I don't know any French actors but if one cannot be found, then I hope we can find an actor capable of pulling off a French accent and bringing Gambit's charm to life.

As for villains, The Sentinels would be interesting but they'd need to be the secondary villains. I was always partial to The Juggernaut but he wasn't exactly one of life's great thinkers. Every superhero movie needs a villain with a brain, even if the other villains are mindless henchmen.

I'm not sure if I want to see Magneto YET AGAIN. Been there, done that. Perhaps Mr. Sinister or Apocalypse could be the villains.

Any thoughts, folks?

Best viallins would be Sinister or apocalypse, but apocalypse is hard too creat, probably Computer animated so that wouldn't work. So i vote for Sinister (who was created by apocalypse). i hope they will not go too that Lost world in Antartica, i hated those episodes (although sinister was there).

I have no doubt that Fox will make an X3, I mean the first two films were big money makers, and honestly X2 was one of the best movies of 2003 in my opinion. I'm a bit nervious as to how another director will pull it off, but as long as the script is written by David Hayter again, it should be a great film. I was actually hoping to see something to do with the Legacy Virus, or possibly the Friends of Humanity, even the Morlocks somehow. Maybe making a film tying in loosely to the plot of "Days of Future Past". I don't know as much about X-Men as I do Spider-Man, however I used to read X-Men as well. The thing that bothered me most about the first film is how insignificant of a villain Sabretooth was, and how he and Wolverine didn't even seem to know eachother, I'd like them to do something about that in the third film, maybe bring back Sabretooth (played by a different actor though, hopefully) and deal with the past that he and Logan share.

Yes, I agree. They did the same with Bane in Batman & Robin. In the comics, Bane was an intelligent crimelord who once broke Batman's back. In the movie, he became a grunting henchman.

Sabretooth deserves a reappearance as an EQUAL foe, not a snarling sidekick. Mind you, there MAY be a solo Wolverine movie on the cards so perhaps Sabretooth would be best saved for that.

Good idea, it is wise to loosely borrow a plot from the comic. A significant portion of Spider-Man 2 was based around a 70's comic story where Parker gave up being Spider-Man.

Keep those ideas coming, friend.

Sabretooth in the movie wasn't one of Strikers experiments like wolverine but only Deathstrike.

The changed a lot in X-men and X-2 (like strikers son and roque being a young kid without the powers of Ms. Marvel).

Not to mention the fact that William Stryker was a minister in the comics, yet in the film he was a military guy.

Who'd love to see Juggernaut in an X-Men movie? Of course, he'd have to be a henchman, not exactly being full of intelligence.

You know what bothered me most about X2, is that Colossus didn't have an accent!

That's my only real beef with the film.

Yes, I see your point. I hope we see him have more screentime in a third movie-with the RIGHT accent.

I love the X-men. But I am too lazy to read all that stuff, Dentist. I'll just leave it at "I love X-men".

I sure hope there will be a thrid X-Men movie. I really liked the first two.

I'd like to see Gambit in the new movie, it would be nice to see all of the original X-Men come together. As for the villian, Magnetto has been in the first two already. Perhaps a new bad guy would be fun.

Gambit wasn't one of the original X-Men.

He means all the X-men at the end of the TV-Show.

(only Jean, Cyclops, Rogue and 2 other guys (iceman?) where the first true X-Men, after that people started too join.)

Cyclops (Scott Summers)
Marvel Girl (Jean Grey)
The Angel (Can't remember his real name, but now known as Archangel)
Iceman (Bobby Drake)
The Beast (Hank McCoy)

It wasn't until "Giant-Sized X-Men #1" over a decade after the X-Men premiered, that the team began seeing some changes.
