PostTue Nov 09, 2004 5:53 pm    The Simpsons

Who loves The Simpsons? I do but I almost didn't.

I remember, around 1990, they aired Season 1 of The Simpsons here in Britain. And I remember being disappointed with the episodes. Nothing much seemed to happen in some of the episodes, they seemed very uneventful.

Of course, in retrospect, Matt Groenig was still learning back then. It would be unfair to criticize the first season of most shows, it's all a learning curve.

I don't have satellite TV (because when I did, I could never find anything to watch on hundreds of channels). So I depend on terrestrial TV. Season 12 of the show has just started on Channel 4, here in Britain. They've also been airing Season 2 on weekdays.

And, Season 2 has fully lived up to my memories of it. I had a horrible day at work today but came home to the episode where Homer trys a hair restoration cream, grows hair and is promoted at the Power Plant. Brilliant episode (and surprisingly, little of Bart in the episode).

I'm looking forward to viewing the show for the first time in years. It's going to be fun.

Anyone have any favourite characters, besides the main family? Of course, I like Krusty the Clown. But I also like Ned Flanders (he reminds me of a guy I used to know). Otto the bus driver and Moe are also interesting characters. And I have to mention Mr. Burns, he's a guy I love to hate.

Anyone want to talk about the show?

I also love the Treehouse of Horror episodes they do. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a bad one.

All I need now is a Simpsons/Futurama crossover and I'll be a happy man!

Don't remember that one. You wouldn't happen to have a title, please?

Thanks. With a few words input into Google, I should be able to find out which episode that is.

I like homer. I mean... he is just the best!
I don't remember all episodes, but I do remember the crayon... I saw that episode a few days ago. And in the end when lisa is about to give homer a hug and he thinks she's about to steal his sandwich
Homer ruule!

Oh yes, the Simpsons are great. I've probably nearly watched all episodes but there're so many, I forgot lots of them. Those characters are very good.

Simpsons is a masterpiece, but the latter seasons have been poor. Theyre running out of idea's. Matt Groening said himself a few months ago that he wants to end the simpsons, he says he finds it increasingly difficult to think up new inventive stories for the simpsons. But hes gonna keep tryin for a bit longer. also try and beat the record with the most seasons in a series. so he wants to get 20 seasons. i think there on season 16 or something lol.

It is better to go out on top. I don't think ANY producer should keep something going just to break records or say his show was the longest running.

The end of the show will be sad but the one positive is that it'll give Groenig the opportunity to put together a magnificent finale.

I don't find it funny at all, I find it to be overrated, and I hate how trendy of a show it is.
