My gosh! Why can't you just accept that the majority of Americans LIKE the President? Because you don't want to.

He won the Electoral Votes because he won most of the states with more Electoral Votes, but he didn't win the Popular Votes in 2000.

I think it's really strange who someone can win and don't have the most votes...
Oh! and that they didn't count some votes whereever it was, just because kerry "gave up"! If that were to happen here, I would go crazy and protest!
*talks to myself* not counting all votes... crazyness... crazy... *shakes head*

They did. All three states came back for Bush. All that's left are the military votes, and you know who they prefer... And anyway. How it works is that every state is worth a number of votes. Like North and South Dakota--small states. With a straight vote count, they're worth pretty much nothing. With electoral votes, they get more representation. So, you could have someone win a number of highly populated states, yet not get elected because more whole states went for the other person. It's winner-take-all. You can win ALL the votes in, say, Ohio, with only a very small margin of a win.

Oh come on! I was arguing with you on the point you made the Bush did the proverbial "butt kissing" to get re-elected. Can I not dispute that? Huh?

Bush won the popular vote by 5,000,000 (60,000,000 votes Bush, 55,000,000 votes Kerry). And they finished counting the votes and he still won. Bush won the popular and the electoral vote, it is that plain and that simple-America prefers Bush over Kerry. End of story.

It is called and estimate, have you heard of them . Like rounding 59 million to 60 and 55 seemed even enough. I do sincerely apologize . Either way, America's choice is clear.

Not quite.
It seems clear at the moment, because Kerry conseded the race and chose not to drag the election out. There were a lot of disputes over the legitemacy of some of the votes.
We just haven't heard a lot about them because the race is over. It doesn't matter.

THE POINT IS, that we need to not argue, and accept the outcome. Regardless.

Elections are all about sucking-up, of course. We all know that: make yourself look good, make yourself have the best stand, the popular stand on the issues. Make your opponent look bad, discredit their name.

I am disappointed in people I talk to who have lost faith in the election process, just because their person didnt get elected. I think thats such a crappy attitude to take. So we may see a lower voter turnout among democrats next year, because they dont believe they can make a difference.

Bah, it happens every year. I have to admit though, more younger people turned out to vote than I thought would. The election was really close and I don't think that just because Kerry did not get elected that people should just stop voting. Bah it all to hell, I think that the young people of the country had a voice in this election and that the high voter turnout turned the tables both ways.

How could you hate our President with a passion? How the heck could you do that? And don't bring up gay marriage--because then you hate me, Exalya, and MANY more, and that's not right.

personally i voted for bush and im glad he won. i certainly didn't like kerry at all! What bothers me is people who are all upset about bush winning act like only two people in this nation voted for him, and by some miraculous reason - he won from just those two votes. I'm not talking about anyone here, i'm having in mind many of my friends from dance - grrr! It irritates the crap out of me, and of course i just listen - there's no point in getting into an argument with them b/c... ugh.. i won't even get into it. Anyways, you all probably know by now that bush had more votes than any president has ever EVER recieved ever. That really says something if you ask me. On top of that, he still won by 3 million votes over kerry. Grrr.. politics give me a headache!!
