My dream is coming true. Finally, a long OVERDUE Iron Man movie is going to be made. Anyone familiar with Iron Man, from Marvel Comics?
As a kid (and an adult I suppose), my favourite was and always will be Superman with Batman coming second. But I loved Iron Man too. His armour was pretty cool and I loved some of the comic tales featuring international intrigue and Iron Man battling all sorts of villains from ruthless capitalists to supernatural threats.
I always wondered when we were going to see an Iron Man movie. In the 80's, I always thought Tom Selleck would make a good Iron Man-he looked the part. Now, I think Tom Cruise (the most popular choice) would make a good Tony Stark/Iron Man. He looks the part and I believe Cruise is a versatile actor.
It's a good time to be a superhero fan. A Fantastic Four movie is coming next year. Ditto Batman. Things are moving ahead on the Superman front. We'll probably see some more Spider-Man and X-Men films. And now, Iron Man is finally coming to the big screen. I can hardly wait!!!

Oh yes. And I believe it will be a long-time before the bubble bursts. It's great now because this era is the era where we have the technology which can really do justice to superhero movies. If they'd have tried an Iron Man or Fantastic Four movie in the 70's, they wouldn't have had the technology to do justice to the characters and themes.

For some reason I'm not sure Tom Cruise is right for the role of Tony Stark.

I'm not exactly sure honestly, just when I think of the character, Tom Cruise doesn't come to mind. At least he has black hair, though.
