Does it seem surreal to anybody else to see a terrorist leader chastising our president for not doing enough to prevent one of his own group's attacks? I know people will take this both ways, but I felt the need to share this most... odd story.

He's an evil b*stard, and he's trying to influence the US elections and get Bush out of office. It's obvious.

Right, right. I knew you'd say that. There's no way to tell, really. I mean, maybe he wants Bush in office and is criticizing him because he knows that Americans hate him (Bin Laden, that is) and will vote for someone they think he doesn't want in office. If he's as shifty as he seems to be, it's a good possibility.

If you're right, then that means Bush must be doing pretty well against the terrorists. I mean, if a terrorist leader wants him out of office, then that must count for something. And I'm being serious here. Not that I like Bush or anything.

Hmm...interesting. He could just be trying to mess with our elections. Probably taunting us because we haven't found him yet. And it sounded like he was giving us a warning o.O

Everyone loves a riddle. Well, I wonder when this attack might happen? I have my suspicions....

Meh, I don't think anyone could have prevented 9/11, unless they had specific intelligence, and even then it would have been difficult. I may not agree with Bush's actions after 9/11, but I certainly don't blame in any way for the actual attacks.

Neither do I, really. Which makes it all the more ironic that Bin Laden is blaming him for it. The irony is brought to critical levels when one considers the complex political motivations he had releasing the tape at this time.

Bill Clinton could have prevented the attack if he had accepted Bin Laden when he was offered up as a captive a few times.

I don't think that Bin Laden gives a s**t about the elections to tell you the truth. People say "He wants Bush out of office cause he supports Bush!" or vice versa. Thats dumb. I think in his message he is saying don't rely on anyone buy yourself to stop these attacks. Hes a sick f**c trying to justify what he did.

RM, I thought Bin Laden said it didn't matter who won the elections, it was about the foreign policy...

I agree entirely. It sounded more like he was aiming for a vote of sympathy from people stupid enough to give it to him, more than anything.

Yes, you know: Before the Patriot Act, if Bush had pretty accurate intel on the hijackers, he couldn't have done anything. In FahrenHYPE, Dick Morris lays out the scenerio in which Gore had to lead a comittee on Air Safety, and guess what: IT WORKED. 8 of the Hijackers were targeted, but there was no way to go after them. Until, of course, the Patriot Act, which stopped the Brooklyn Bridge from being bombed

Yes, he clearly wants Bush out.

I agree with most of that, except I believe that he wants Bush out of office.

I'm not so sure. If there was political motivation behind it, it may just as well have been to rally support for Bush. Osama isn't stupid; he thinks on multiple levels.

My statement was COMPLETELY different from that! DO NOT EVEN INSINUATE anything like that! He is an evil man and OBVIOUSLY did that on purpose! God!

Actually, they can still do stuff, but not on massive scales.

Seriously RM, where do you get this insight in Bin Laden's thinking process from?

RM has mind-reading abilities. And he also can't be wrong. Become the mindless right-wing zombie...

...Sorry.

I've noticed that Bin Laden and Kerry say a lot of the same thing, and that the terrorists want Kerry in office. Ok, terrorists want Kerry in office, and does that not sound crazy to anyone else? If the terrorists want Kerry in office, that means that he will not protect us. And they want Bush outa there, which means that Bush will truly protect us.

Just out of curiosity: is that an assumption or do you have actual proof that the terrorists have said they want Kerry in office?

No, I don't have proof, it's just a thought, that that is a likely case because he would not be on the offensive like Bush. However, I do take that back in a sense because I don't want to insinuate that bin Laden supports Kerry but that he prefers him in office because of that situation.

Well, I really ment that since Bin Laden didn't support Bush, than he had to want someone else in office. Hmm, I guess that means Kerry (and an outside shot for Nader).
