Should smoking be banned in public places? (UK)

I really don't like people that smoke, mostly because they are inconsiderate about their habit. Not everyone wants to share the joy, guys.

As a rule, I wouldn't date a smoker. I'm sure the majority of them are nice people but cigarette smoke does tend to stay with a person. Sharing a kiss (or something else) isn't for me, if the lady is a smoker.

hey, I agree. My brother smokes 3-4 a day and his girlfriend said she won't marry him unless he stops smoking. I wouldn't want to kiss a smoker either, but luckily for now I'm single and only smoke once a month... BTW you guys should be proud of me. I've actually made it passed the 1 month point without a smoke.

But as for a public area... It's a public area and that should entail sort of a freedom of the area. And like I've said before, no smoker is forcing you to breath it, that's just bs IMO.

The issue I have with smoking is when people do it inside. There is nowhere to escape from it. You know, the walls kinda trap it in. Weird how that works.

I actually really like the fact that it is against the law to smoke in restaurants in my state. They just passed the law a few months ago.

I think you do need a hospital. Get a doctor to put some oil on your jaw, it certainly needs an oil, seeing as how dry it must be from talking.

Sounds to me like you guys need a nice Salem Menthol. I've got a whole box in my room if ye need.

I don't think smoking is banned in restaurants here... in fact, I know it's not. Basically anywhere you go they still ask "smoking or non". When we need a fix and the month is passing slowly, we just go to Village Inn or IHOP. They've got some good second hand smoke. The Swing club downtown is the same way... but mostly you just go there to dance.

I agree with angeldust. smokers should smoke outside when they are in public places, and as seven of nine was saying about people blowing smoke in babies faces, well i just wanna say that kids don't need to exposed to that stuff. we are trying to teach our kids not to smoke. but its kinda hard to do that when we have a whole city smoking everyday.
