I think TNG ended on a good note. I think the movies are good. But as the final title said All Good Things must come to an end.

The movies of Startrek tv shows always tend to be wambam and shoot outs, Unlike the shows they replace.

Some Trek movies were action-orientated such as The Undiscovered Country and First Contact. However, some weren't.

Star Trek:The Motion Picture was a deep, philosophical story with little action. But I thought the premise was great.

Star Trek:The Voyage Home was not an action-fest either. The ONLY bit of violence in the movie was when Spock put the Vulcan Neck Pinch on an obnoxious 20th century punk. The rest of the movie was a fun and comedic mix featuring the crew in the 20th century, reacting to what they called "primitive culture".

I really liked TNG, and while I do agree with you guys that the final episode was a very well written one, and very well done- I can't stop tears from coming at the end, it signifies the end of a very unique and very special journey.

I agree as well. The Motion Picture was good- but not action packed. And, the Voyage Home wasn't exactly a thriller either.

In a way Star Trek: The Next Generation did go on with the movies. Most of the movies finished up storylines that they didnt complete in the TV Show. I really dont think that they should go into another season, they left with a huge bang and I dont want to even start to picture the series becoming nothing more than a drawn out season to gain ratings.

I think All Good Things was a great finish for TNG. I liked the way it framed the whole series. If they had another series then the frame would have been lost.

well, although DS9 had some good plots and Voy also, they never realy took over the batton when TNG tv went off line So Paramount could have continued the show.

I think that if TNG would have continued it would have become boring to watch.....
and it would have become difficult to make new thrilling episodes..

But for a short while i would have been in heaven

It was really sad to see TNG go, but it couldn't last forever.

I think that 7 seasons is enough...even though, it would be great if I had endless episodes of TNG. But never the less, I thought that it ended at the right time.

Personally, I think TNG ended at the right point and the right time. Carrying on a series too long tends to make people shy away from it.

Ok TNG had to end eventually although even though I didnt know about Star Trek when it finished and I knew they had finished it, I was like crying after watching the last Ep.

An important point to be made is that TNG has KEPT going in the form of novels and audio adventures. Okay, they may not be the same as new episodes being produced for TV but there are some cracking books and audio tapes which continue the exploits of the TNG crew.
