What supermarkets do you use? (UK)

I wanted to ask my fellow Brits what supermarkets they liked/didn't like. If you're not a Brit, still feel free to post your thoughts if you have any.

So, folks, which supermarket do you use?

Personally, I prefer Tesco. It has everything you need, the staff are very helpful and polite and I like some of their prices. I have to travel out of town to visit Tesco; if there's ever a time when I can't get out of town, then I will use Farmfoods or Kwik Save.

I have a Co-Op store right next to my home. However, what they sell is limited and their prices can be a bit steep to be honest. They're a pretty basic store.

What about you, folks?

Asda price works for Mom. If not it's normally Sainsbury's.

I work at Asda, so use it for the staff discount. But there's no way in hell I'd shop there if I didn't. It is way too busy for my liking.

There's a local Tesco that, whilst having fewer choices, is far easier to shop at.

10%. And I think there's one day in the year where we get 20%. There are also some offers they do throughout the year (there was a recent sale for colleagues on the George clothes - 20% I think).

Well, back here in Holland we've got the 'Albert Heijn' (funny how the English pronounce that), but the veggies aren't too good there. My parents always go to 'Hoogvliet', wich is cheaper and the veggies are muchos better.

We've also got the 'Aldi' and 'Lidl', but I don't go there.

There's a Morrisons, Kwik Save and Co-Op here, and an Asda and Sainsburys nearby. I think at the moment my Mum shops at Asda and Morrisons... the other two are really small compared to them. Oh, there's an Aldi too, but she doesn't shop there either. We went there once and it's so... raggy,

And the cashier person was sweeping our stuff onto the floor after they ran it through the till, and they didn't help with packing at all.

Well I don't live in the UK, but I'll answer anyway.

I usually go to Pak'n'save, and if not there I'd go to Woolworths.

In Belgium we have ALDI too. I only go there if they have a special offer.

I go to Delhaize most of the time. There's one very near to my appartment, it's clean and you can get anything you want. They also have self-scanning were you scan the products you want and put them into the trolley. Then you just walk through the cashier and pay without unpacking everything.

Let's see, ... Oh! We also have Grand Bazar which was renameed into Carrfour. Then there's WIBRA. It's this very cheap supermarket but the quality isn't that good. That's about it I think...

I always go to the Albert Heijn. Very expensive supermarket but i has nice thing (like biological pig meat which is infected with a parasite that kills children and old people) (or biological eggs, so you are sure that there is no plastic in it

Tesco, Morrisons, Co-op, Lidl, Wal Mart (our ASDA just got done over and now is a hypermarket instead of a supermarket, so it's now a Wal Mart. The shops about a mile long, and there's two floors, crazy!) and Sainbury's. Totally depends on what my mum feels like and where is nearest.

Yeah, I usually buy new albums from Morrisons, as they all seem to be under �10 in supermarkets, compared with �12.99 in Woolworths or wherever.
