Hi. This is my GCSE coursework story. I know the rest of the stories here are trekkieish but I just wondered what you think of it.

The Assassin

All was silent. She was alone. Why she was alone - no one knew. She was an attractive young girl, clever yet quiet. Her blue eyes were the rock pools abundant with blue sparkling water. Her hair were golden threads flowing gently in the breeze. Most people in her shoes would have been in the town but not her. She just sat in the thick, dark green overgrowth, watching the dramatic scene. Her tight jeans were ripped at the knees as though they had just been sliced with a knife. As a cool breeze swept through the hustling trees, she put on her black leather jacket, yet she did not move her bright blue eyes from the deathly scene. Her face remained emotionless.

The noise from the scene below was dying as the situation was being resolved. She felt emaciated: she had not eaten in days. Her body was exhausted - she had just completed an important assignment for her company, which had both mentally and physically tired her. The cool breeze and warm sun looked very welcoming and she had shelter from the trees. Her decision was made. She was alone. She lay down her heavy head and as she did so, her eyes closed dreamily.

* * *

The midday sun dazzled Kathryn as she was trying to read the newspaper she had just bought. Her task for her work was huge and yet she was getting peanuts. She had hypothesised the job would involve a long wait yet the job itself could be over quite quickly. She browsed through the paper as she listened to the radio. An announcement was being introduced. Beware!, bellowed the Dj. It has been said a terrorist group called the Devils Angels have been conspiring another scheme. The police have said to be alert and more information will be broadcasted when they find new supporting evidence. Her fists clenched. She was irked at the broadcast yet other emotions ran through her. Nervously, she switched the radio off. She gazed around. She had the feeling someone was watching her. All was quiet. Too quiet. The distant noises of the streets and cars seemed to be fading. What if someone is watching me? What if I get caught? These thoughts kept running through her brain. She hadnt been caught before so it wouldnt be her this time. She had to get these thoughts out of her head: she had to focus she thought as she glared at the breathtaking view.

It was a breathtaking, beautiful view as she gazed around. Her eyes panned the background. She could see a distant city, the towers of the churches, the sky scraping shopping centres, yet for some reason, her eyes were drawn closer and closer to an old shabby house.

She focused on the house, scanning it from top to bottom. She could visualize it as an out of date fridge. The roof had now become an apple crumble. All of the apple has rotted away leaving no support to the disintegrating crumble, that had now turned a soggy grey texture. The walls were biscuits with pieces missing as if rats had bitten into them. They looked feeble: barely strong enough to support the crumble. The garden was a field of mouldy green mushrooms, lankily standing as tall as possible, trying their hardest to protect their home. In reality, the house had a roof, barely there but still a roof. The tiles had faded over time to a grey - blue colour. Most of them were missing, yet the remaining tiles were cracked and worn down. The old bricks that formed the walls were too cracked and worn down. The garden was overgrown with out of control but brave trees trying to hide their jewel. It looked chaotic and disordered but Kathryn knew someone lived there, she couldnt say how she knew. She just knew!

Several hours had passed as Kathryn studied the house to gain as much knowledge as she could. The house had taken her interest and she had now found out where some of the rooms were located. Kathryn sat in daydream until she noticed someone else had wondered into the scene of the house. He was a suspicious character; his hair was ratty and scraggly. His clothes werent much better either. His shabby shawl, patched from where several holes had formed, barely had the strength to keep the cold away. He was a short fellow, only about five foot four, give or take an inch. His trousers, now a faded black colour, dragged along as he wearily scuttled along the crazy paved path. His skin would have been of an olive colour but it was black as if someone had covered it in jet black mascara.

He stood still. He glanced around. Had she been noticed? Kathryn gave a sigh of relief. He was on the move again. He edged towards the fridge. She sat up. He stumbled. Kathryn gasped. He looked around. Feebly, he rose like a dying phoenix rising from the deathly ashes. He walked, step by step. Kathryn reached in her bag. He reached for the door. He gave one last look around.

BANG!

It was a futile attempt for survival. He seemed to repel the air around him. His hands clasped around his thin neck. His body was dripping with thick dark red blood. His beady blue - grey eyes focused on an object. He managed one final breath, and with that he cursed scornfully.

Kathryn watched the tramp. He had dropped to the floor. Blood surrounded the annihilated body. Kathryn gasped at the sight below. Could he still be alive? Should I go and help? Kathryn decided not to. It would only put the suspicion onto her. Kathryn wandered off up the hill.

* * *

She awoke. She didnt realise how long it had been. She could see policemen searching the scene below. Silently, she gathered her belongings as quickly as she could. She crept out of the overgrowth, keeping as low as a predator stalking its prey, for she did not want to draw attention and suspicion to herself. She came to the other side of the and panned the view. No policemen were in sight. She stood up and as she did so a complacent smile appeared on her face. Kathryn had just got away.

PostFri Jan 16, 2004 12:41 am    Crewman Cutler's Funeral

In Memoriam

The Captain walked into the Mess Hall and saw everyone standing there and the sad faces. He slowly made his way to the center. He had prepared a speech for the memorial and he then read that speech:

Our days in this universe are numbered, that is a fact, and we may not know everything in the book, but we do use our time wisely. We dont lose a single second; always our time is being filled with fun, sadness, happiness, mourning, or seriousness.

I feel that Crewman Cutler had a very special place in our hearts, and in our minds. She always brought happiness to everyone, and her curiosity was her most admirable quality. I had many times, seen her walking down the halls, and I would see her smile that would just cheer me up. Her family and friends on earth new her well and I feel we got to know her too, but maybe there was something about her we did not know, maybe there was a part of her life not explored, maybe, but now, I feel pain at any chances of those parts being lost.

Perhaps, just maybe, shes looking down on us, from, oh, who knows where, and guarding us. Maybe shes not, but I do know she will be in our hearts forever. May Elizabeth Cutler's name be remembered always for who she was. May she rest in peace.

Archer stepped back and signaled to the whistler and he sounded off. He watched as Cutlers makeshift coffin, converted from a torpedo module, went out adrift into space, he would always remember her, it had pained him to lose a crew member. He slowly turned around and walked out of the Mess Hall, not looking back.

This was an RPG post but it really could be a Short Story.

New lives, New meanings.
Rated: PG

Remzono Korroc turned the corner around the corridor. It was pretty alive today. The captain had had a child over the past few months. I keep to myself a lot. My position is in fact the Captains Assistant, but it is more my way to be alone. Most Romulans feel that way onboard a Human Ship. There smell, it has to be one of the worse things in the entire Galaxy. Not ill have to deal with another one.
Maybe I should turn back and head back to my quarters. The captain hasnt needed me for many days now, is there really a reason why I need to go and cheer on the captains child. He is a very honorable man, in human aspects. I prefer Romulans any day. The only reason why I am here on the pathfinders is to keep Peace between our to people. Or try to regain trust. I dont trust any Human; they always end up with some kind of lie that you will have to deal with forever.
Remzono Korroc turned. One of the Humans walked past. I didnt talk to her or make eye contact. She said my name.
How may I assist you? The Human Female had an extremely strong smell.
Nothing really I just wanted to ask if you were off to see the captains Baby. We havent met yet. My name is Lt. Many Brooks. She held out her hand to me. There was nothing I could do but shake her hand. Human touch was almost as bad as there smell.
Nice to meet you as well. Ill be off, I better not keep the captain waiting to long. He may think that it is a Insult if I dont hurry along. That should be enough to get her to go away. He hands were small. A little wet from perhaps sweat. She looked like she worked in Engineering. She did work in Engineering. I really didnt care.
She nodded approval and stepped aside. I walked past her and around the corner. There smell increased. There was some sort of party going on in there. Not much I can do to get away now. I walked into the Medical Bay. The captain turned his head and started to walk over to me.
Glad you could make it Remzono, please come here and meet my daughter. Her name is Kathryn Rose Laforge.
The baby girl turned her little Human head my way. It wasnt as bad as I though. The fact that she was alive only meant that the captain would spend less time with me and more with that puny little organism he called a daughter.
She is a very beautiful baby girl. May I hold her? It was very custom to hold your captains baby. I had a very strong urge to destroy it right there. There was pain. I cant do it. I handed it back to the captain.
Very nice. Ill be getting back to my duties now sir.
Very well, I expect you to be on the bridge tonight. Ill be busy here and I need a good hand in command of the ship.
I looked at him. He was giving command to me? I could do so much with this power. Access so many files and transfer them to my people.
Thats alright sir, I have made some other plans with another person tonight. Please pick someone else, perhaps a Starfleet officer?
Very well then.
I turned. The torture would be done for right now. I left. The smell decreased. I went away. I started to breath normal again. All we can hope now is that he doesnt have another kid for a long time.
The captain out of the corner of my eye went to take a photo with his new baby girl.
I turned just in time. Three more Human crewmembers were header to the so called festival two were human males and one female. The didnt say anything to me. They started to walk faster and looked away as they started to pass me. Figures. Most humans dont know how to act to someone that they know could destroy them in a matter of moments. I may destroy this ship; no one would ever suspect me to do a thing that evil.
I was asked by the Romulan Star Empire to give up 5 years of my life for this mission. They only reason why I took it was to protect my family. Its true, I have a few kids. Their names are classified or I would inform you right away. They had wanted me to stay. They didnt know that if I would disobey the Empire this one time that they would send a fleet of Reman soldiers and ships to kill them and myself. But it wasnt just that. It would not have been a very slow death. A very long and tortured one. It was a simple choice to pick to go. I saw tears on my Wifes face as I bored the transport. They may never see me again. If I were to disobey the Empire I would only be destroyed.
The mission they sent me out on was very simple. I was to get as much information on the Humans before they would ever know. I was to send it to the Romulan War bird, which was cloaked behind the Pathfinder matching its speed and course where ever it was going to go. They hadnt found it yet nor are they going to. This new baby will keep many of the humans off guard. The perfect time to access a consol and download there database.
I had the captain security codes. I was the captains assistant. Which only meant I could go in his ready room alone whenever I felt like it. I searched for it a few weeks back. I had to gain his puny trust before I acted. I pretty much think that I had succeeded in that. I had to get away from them soon. Yes the mission was going to be fore five years. The Romulan guard didnt want me to do what I am going to do. They only told me that download the entire database was going to be too risky. I could spend five years in here doing nothing but that, but I could get the entire mission done in one day and transport over the Romulan war bird in only a few hours.
I walked down a little father. There was no one in site. The time was now; no one was going to stop me now. Im going to go back and see my family and no Romulan War bird or even a Federation Starship was going to stop me. I went to a weapons locker. I pulled out two phasers, set them both to kill. There will be no mercy tonight. IN the morning I will have to be damned before I dont see my family.
The crew was still busy at the party. I walked over to a door. Two crewmembers passed. I ducked out of there view. They didnt see me. So far everything is going to play. First I am going to get into the main computer by an access panel inside one of the Jeffries tube. It shouldnt become very hard to get there. A few turn down the main corridor of the ship and I will have arrived in one of the hidden doors on the Pathfinder.
I swept out from under the view of three more crewmembers. There smell still stayed there. They were talking. Strangely it wasnt about the new baby of the captain. It was about some irregularity in one of the ships scans. I went for it. Right then I got to the final port. I open the hatch to the Jeffries tube and went in for the kill. No one was going to stop me now.
My wrist started to vibrate. It was a hidden communicator with the Romulan vessel. It started to hurt. The pain was so strong that I couldnt do anything but fall to my knees. It was pure luck that I was hidden from all members of the Pathfinder crew. Or was it meant to be that way. I pressed down and began to speak to them.
Im here! Leave the hell alone! Why are you keep responding to me with such pain! They were doing nothing but increases in.
You were on your way. We have monitored everything that you have done over the past few weeks! You will not disobey the Romulan Star Empire one more time. Because of this mutiny we will kill one member of your family. Say good bye to you youngest and only male inheritor of your kingdom!
They put my youngest son on the phone. Then I heard a loud and violent scream. He was now dead. The end of my family line was now here. And there was nothing that I could do to help him.
Now if you have any more urges to disobey us, we will kill the ret of your family. After all, they are all here with us. They shut down the link and left me there on my hands and knees.
It came to me right then what he had said. They had my family with them! You would think they would pick a more loyal person to complete their missions. Instead they would keep their newborn soldiers on the tail of a lease.
I will meet my family again, perhaps in five years. I will never know how long that Romulan war bird will follow this ship. For now I will be loyal to both Starfleet and the Empire.

Data's Day
Rated: G

Lt. Commander Data stepped out of the turbo lift, heading to Deck one, the bridge. It was Stardate 17432.5 amd the USS Enterprise had been order to head to the Neutral Zone. Reports from near by planets had shown a powarbird flying extremely close to the neutral zone border. And, Data thought, the last time this had happened, Starfleet had nearly escaped a war, and it was up to the Enterprise and her crew to stop armed conflict from breaking out.

Jean-Luc Picard, Captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise, stepped by me, and as he entered the turbo life, uttered a greeting to me.
"Good Morning Data."

As I returned the greeting, my positronic brain began to ponder these activities: Why greet someone whom you had no desire to spend time with at that moment? And why would someone ask you if you where keeping busy, as the Captain often does with me, when you knew they followed a regular routine each day that left only a few hours for free time?

And then there was being bored. Everyone asked me constantly if I was bored, yet they know that, as an android, I do not have any feelins, especially not of listlessness or discontent, although I do feel held back in ways.

I stepped into the bridge doors sensory net, and the opened. As I stepped through, I watched Commander William Riker take the center command seat. I approached my ops console, and the ensign curently manning it quickly exited the bridge. I sat down, entered my ID and voiceprint, and then waited for the computer to verify me.

"Any changes yet, Mr. Data?" Rikers booming voice filled the bridge, causing young Wesely to jump in his seat.

"None at this....". My voice broke off as new data appeared on my screen. "Sir, I am detecting the warp trail of a Romulan ship that passed only 200 meters from the border."

Riker quickly walked over to my station, and stood directly behind me, watching my console, although at his distance, he would not be able to see anything of importance due to the light blurring forcefields in place around the consoles. "On screen, Mr. Data."

"Aye sir." The screen quickly changed views, but it still only showed an empty starfield.

"Its a cloak!" Rikers prediction was true, as Data could not otherwise explain the ion trials leading directly to that spot and stopping, with no impulse trails leading away, and no ships in the vicinity. "Picard to the bridge."

"I'm on my way, Number One." The comm link closed, but not before Data could hear Doctor Crusher ask the Captain where he was going.
Just seconds later, the captain rushed onto the bridge, but the expression on his face was not his normal cool, but a slightly angered expression. "Number One, may I be informed of the reason for the red alert and my summons to the bridge?"

"Sir, Data detected the ion trail of a Romulan ship. It ends directly in front of us, approxamitely 200 kilometers from the border." Riker nodded to Data, who presented the captain with options.

"Sir, we have three options. We could eject the engine coolant from the bussard collectors, and channel the gas towards the Romulan vessel, which would disable its cloak, but leave us without engine power for several hours. The second option is for us to eject the compressed atmosphere stored in the nacelles, and channel it towards the vessel, which would have the same effect, but we would need to dock at a starbase or enter a planets atmosphere within two hours so that our oxygen could be replenished. However, there are no suitable planets within range, so this option would require that the crew be placed in stasis, which would hinder our abilities in a battle.

"The third option is that we randomly fire our phasers, and try and hit the vessel, although we would most likely start the war we are hoping to prevent." Data looked to the captain for an order, but none was forthcoming.

"Worf, get LaForge up here....". His voice faded as the turbolift doors opened to reveal the engineer.

"Computer, transfer engineering to the bridge. What can I do for you, Captain?" The captian regained his calm facade in only seconds, and then began to give orders.

"Work with commander Data to find a solution. We need to reveal the cloaked vessel without disabling the Enterprise or breaking any treaty laws. You have every disposal at your command."

"Well, Captain, if Data can verify my theory, I might have an answer for you." The commander stopped, and then Picard nodded for him to continue.

Data’s eyes were moving faster and faster, left to right. as Geordie LaForge told him about his idea. Data had been scanning the entire Star Fleet database on some other way that could be establish, which wouldn’t be a treat of war. The red lights from the Red Alert faded away into a Yellow alert. It had been 3 Earth hours now, and there still has been no change with the trail.

Data cocked his head twice, which was a very common move for the android.

Laforge and Data moved away in a corner of the room, away from the Others, that way it would be easier to think and come up with a conculsion.
Data and Laforge walked back over to Riker and Picard in a few moments.
"Captain, After going over Laforge's plan, it seems that there still is one option left."

“Well don’t keep us wondering Data, Please feel free to enlighten us at any time with this.” Riker said as he brushed the beard on his face.
“ We could send a small shuttle or probe, which would be unmaned so that it would be legal our with the treaty of the Romulan people, to enter the neutral zone and go on the opposite side of the romulan ship. After we set the ship in the right place we then would be able to setup a small but postivaly working tachyon net."

"Tachyon net?" Riker asked.
"A Tachyon net is a series of tachyon pulses sent out from the deflector array of a starship and received by the array on another ship."
"How would that help us in out current sitatuation?" Picard asked.
"Tachyon particles cannot be deflected into subspace, which is what the ship uses to cloak itself, so the pulse would never reach the second ship, and the ships would know a cloaked vessel was present."
"Make it so Mr. Data." Riker turned to face Laforge. "Geordie, I want you to make sure that the Tachyon net will not be disrupted by anything in Sub space. I want this to be one hundred percent correct."
"Understood Commander." Laforge and Data got up and went to the back side of the Bridge. The Engineering station whats in that location. Fro there they could set up everthing but the Shuttle pod, the pod's computer would have to be responsable for that.

"Data, Are we ready to prep the shuttle for launch?" asked LaForge.
"I would say so Commander." Data turned to Riker. "We will contact you when the shuttle is ready to Lauch. We will set up the Tachyon net from Shuttle bay 2, and there we will send you the scans to confirm if there is Romulan ship out there."

"Alright Best of luck to you, The Ion trial hasnt changed yet."
Data and LaForge walked into the turbo lift near one of the doors off to the side of the bridge.

"Shuttle Bay 2"
They sat still, while they rode to the the Shuttle bay. The speed slowly dropped. Data lead LaForge off of the Tufbo lift and inot the Bay.
"Start programming the Pod's computer to set up a Tachyon net from the consul over there." LaForge said as he went over to the consul. "We can control both the Enterprise and the Pod from here."

Data moved over the the pod, and started to download some data from his Tricorder.

"Commander, It is now read." Data said.
"Alright, LaForge to Commander Riker, We are now launching the Unmanded Shuttle pod into space. IN 5 mins. we will be able to set up the net, and detect if there is a Romulan Ship out there."
"Understood, Riker out."

The red lights started to glow again. The ship was placed back in t Red Alert, the yellow alert was over. Enterprise was making its move right now. The Shuttle bay doors opened wide, and the shuttle started to lift up. The Navagation had been tested by the computer while Data nad LaForge were on the Ship's Bridge. The Shuttle jumped out of the Shuttle Bay, past the force fields which held the force of empty space from inside of the ship.

It guided its self around the Port side of Enterprise, and then it crossed the Border. It wasnt long before it had approched the co-orandates to start the Tachyon net.

"Data, are you ready?"
Data began to think to himself. Tachyon particles cannot be deflected into subspace, which is what the ship uses to cloak itself, so the pulse would never reach the second ship, and the ships would know a cloaked vessel was present, If they were to come back to the enterprise, then it would be proven that there was a ship. If it doesnt cme back, there it would be proven that there wasnt a ship. After we have deteremed weater it is or it isnt. Eather way the potion of space with the ion trail will be visable in the next few mins.

"Data, Are you ready?"
"Sorry commander, Starting the Yachyon net now."
There was a short burt of light, and then there was the scans.
"Commander Riker. We have gotten back Tachyon Particals, there is a ship out there and it should be visable as of now!"

"Affimative Data, On screen." Riker said as he cut off the trasmition from his com badge.
The viewscreen came up, there was a Romulan Shp out there. Only it was disabled, A wreck.

"Is there any reason why this happened? Scan for suriviors!"
Worf scanned for a bit.

"It seems captain, that the Romulan Ship had computer errors, then a Haul breach all by itself."
"How long ago was this?"
"Based off teh scans from the Ion trail, about 7 hours." Worf said.
"Jean-Luc, It seems we jumped to comclusion to fast today." Riker intturupted them.

"That it may seem, I dont know about the rest of you but its been a long night. Cancel Red Alert, Send in a Report to Star Fleet Command. you have the Bridge Number one.
Jean-Luc stod up from teh captains chair and headed to the turbo lift.
"Deck 2, Crew Quarters."
He walked out of the lift, and a ways down the corrodores till Data walked by.

"Good morning Captain."
There was a short pause in his voice.
"Indeed it was Data."

Ill post the full Beta read version (Beta read by Danny Bowman) when it is finished.

Mild violence and Gore

On the Front Lines

Outpost 2 this is the U.S.S. Uganda we will return shortly with supplies and reinforcements, =/\=

Uganda this is Outpost 2 we will wait for your ship to return. Outpost out =/\=

We watched from the small bunker as the Defiant class ship started to rise from the planets surface. Even from 400yards away we could feel the heat from the impulse engines firing up. As the Uganda was about to leave the Atmosphere a sudden barrage of ground to air torpedoes shot out at the Uganda making it buckle, it started to slow down and suddenly exploded.

Were trapped here for even longer now! We cant get reinforcements screamed a rookie no more than 18 years old, he should even be here I thought, if the Dominion decide to attack, his life could be over before it begins
Its ok kid, its just a minor setback, Im sure Starfleet already has another ship on the way. I knew that it wasnt true but I felt bad for the kid.You think so? the kid said Yea thats probably ri- suddenly a disruptor beam fired from behind a boulder hitting the kid in the head killing him instantly.

Suddenly hundreds of phaser fire shot back and literally obliterated the rock and the JemHadar behind it. That was just a scout, the rest will be here soon, ensign Pung hand out extra phaser batteries and a ration of food to the troops, we must be ready for the JemHadar! Lieutenant Peterson, I want you and a few men to set mines here, here and here He said pointing to places on a hollow map Aye sir I responded Jacub, Wrog your with me

I walked with the two ensigns over to the small storage cellar Ok Jacub you take a couple of those type 2 combustion mines and Wrog you take some of these Fragmentation mines I looked over as Jacub and Wrog started to move pick up the mines with ease because of the Anti-Gravity forcefeild around them, Suddenly Wrog slipped and dropped the mines and my heart stopped in my chest, luckily they didnt go off. Be more careful with those mines, if they went off you would have killed half the people here! Sorry, its just the stress here that was too close, maybe I should have brought the klingon instead of this Ferengi I thought to my self.

After a while the mines were in place and we were waiting back in the bunker eating energy supplements. Suddenly I looked up and saw something moving in the distance not to far from where I had placed the mines, I waited a few moments but the mines werent detonating. Commander the mines havent detonated yet! I shouted to the Commander sitting about 15 feet away What? he responded a little frustration in his Vulcan voice You mean we didnt get any of them A squeaky but frightened said a young man sitting not to far away, I wasnt to sure about what species he was. None
Damnit I thought to my self If we havent killed any already they will surely outnumber us, and out gun us I glanced over to a small blood stain on the Duritainium wall were the kid was killed.

ARM YOURSELVES Shouted the Vulcan Commander nearly the second we started to hear the JemHadar shouting warcrys as they ran towards us. Immediately I heard the click of laser scopes and battery packs as they were placed on to the phaser rifles and disruptors. This is it I thought May the prophets guide us through this. Suddenly hundreds of phaser and Disruptor fire erupted from either side. I watched as the Commander was shot in the throat knocking his head right off his body, it looks like I just got a promotion I thought to myself trying to lighten my mood.

After a while when the battle seemed hopeless, the JemHadar outnumbering and outgunning us about 500 to 50, I stood up and fired many phaser shots at the on coming JemHadar ripping the leg of one and burning a whole through anothers chest. I heard a rumbling noise, I figured it was a partical grenade being thrown by one of my men when suddenly Huge phaser blasts shot from about 100 meters over head straight into the JemHadar. I noticed as most off my men looked up as I did, and there it was, The U.S.S. Enterprise-E, captain Picard in there aiding us killing off many of the JemHadar, the JemHadar happy to have a new target start firing uselessly on the Enterprise as it fires a photon torpedo into the rapidly shrinking group of JemHadar.

Soon enough the JemHadar were finished and Commander Geordie LaForge beamed down with Doctor Beverly crusher and another medical officer. Immediately she beamed back most of what was left of my men leaving only LaForge and the Nurse. I walked to LaForge and saluted. Hello Mister LaForge, It is an honor to meet you I am Lieutenant Victor Dimaskus and I am in recently taken command down here after my commander wasput out of commission, I pointed with my thumb over my shoulder at the Commanders headless Vulcan body. I see He said his Optical Implants making a quite buzzing noise as the zoomed in on his body. Captain Picard has asked me to come down here and find you, he wished to talk to you My jaw dropped The Great Picard wants to talk to me? Thats like a Klingon warrior baking cookies! I thought Letting my mind run wild thinking about what to say to Picard. Enterprise two to beam up LaForge said and in almost an instant I was looking at one of the Transporter rooms of the Federations flag ship.

Trekker Fiction- Star Trek DS9, When we were just Soldiers.

((Setting: An Admiral's Private Office on a Distant Starbase, set 28 years after the End of the Dominion War))

"Captain's Log....Stardate....My Name is Vice-Admiral Joseph Zaccharius Annan, I am fortunate enough to have survived the most recent and by far the worst Attrocity in Federation History- The Borg Wars. It would be wrong for me to even try to estimate how many people died in that War and if it weren't for something a great friend of mine had said to me in my Childhood then I no doubt would've been killed in that War.

I fear that soon I will be forced into Retirement, after all I am now 68 years old and I have recently been sent to a Federation War Tribunal for not giving the Crew of my Ship the orders issued to them by Star Fleet Command, However I'd rather not go into that just now, I'd rather take this opportunity to reflect on my past and not look at my future.

In all these years I realise what a waste my life has been, I never married once, I have no relatives left, in fact I have virtually no-one. Growing up, I never even had any Siblings but Benjamin Laffayatte Sisko was as good a Brother than any Blood Brother of mine could ever be......

Ben and I entered the Academy at roughly the same age, both of us fought over who got the highest grades, it was quite petty really. In fact we both hated each other with a Passion until the Training Operation on Lunar City's Course. The Academy set up this Training Mission as a means of getting Cadet's to Co-Operate with each other and it certainly did work, Ben and I were handcuffed to each other and were sent out with 19 other teams the Objective was to find the Runabout that was Cloaked and pilot it back to Earth, whilst at the same time take out the other teams with your Stun Setting. I had my doubts, but Ben and I made it back to Earth as the Winning Team. The Summer after that, Ben and I hung around with each other almost everyday, then he moved to New Orleans and we both Graduated; we both thought he had said our final goodbyes then.

Three years after our Graduations, I was serving as a Lt. (jg) on the USS Pioneer and he was serving on another Ship...I forget the name, but Fate brought re-united us. The Kelaran System was a victim of a Mass Genocide Campaign led by the Cardassian Obsidian Order, it was a situation made even worse by the Orion Pirates who were Raping the Kelaran Women and Killing the Men and Boys. So a task force was sent to rescue the Refugees and bring them to safety, Surprise Surprise both myself and Ben's Ships are amongst the Rescue teams.

Orion Pirates are Merciless people, that's how I lost my left Arm. We were helping the Kelaran Refugees board our Ship when an Orion Pirate armed with an Orion Light-Machetti sliced my arm off and attempted to do the same to my head, Ben got a Shot on the Guys head and praise be God that's why I am still alive today. I promised Ben after that, that I would look after Jennifer and any future Kids if he died.

13 years after that, I found myself working with Ben on the Utopia Planitia Shipyard on Mars, we both Oversaw the Design of the Defiant Class-Prototype then. I left the Shipyards to gain my own command and that I was the Second last time I ever saw Ben.

12 years later, I remember the final battle of the Dominion Wars- My Ship the USS Gaia was at the Front line with the Federation, Klingons and Chancellor Martok on his Flagship. My Ship came under heavy damage that day, but Ben's came out even worse. I remember our last words to this day, and it still pains me to think of them.

I hailed Ben to tell him of the Damage dealt to my Ship and the Low Morale of my Crew, he instructed me to use the Escape Pods on my Ship and Evacuate, and he told me he'd be following my lead by doing the same shortly after me. It was in times of war and hence I was a fool to believe him, so I did take the Escape Pod and so did my crew. 1 hour Passed and Ben had not done the same yet, in fact his ship was taking a heavier beating, so I hailed him, my exact words were.

'C'mon let's get you off that Ship now Buddy, there's a very slim chance you'll survive unless the Dominion, Cardos and Breen Surrended' he looked at me on the Pod's small viewing screen and laughed as he replied-

'Didn't I teach you anything about myself in all those years you've known me Zak?- I love Bajor, I'm it's Emissary and if my death could leave Bajor that 1% safer than I would gladly take my life right now. Look after Jake and Kassidy if I don't return'.

On Bajor, I recieved news that Sisko had survived the War, so I returned to DS9 to see him one last time, that was when I knew something had happened to him. Kassidy looked me straight in the eyes with tears in her own and said-

'Zak, Ben's gone to Bajor but he hasn't returned, somethings happened to him and he's not returning. I spoke to him in a Vision and he's with the Prophet's now'.

I knew Kassidy had not lost her mind, so I stayed behind on DS9 and left Jake a substancial amount of Latinum that his Father had put behind in a Fund just incase he did die or go MIA. Until Ben returns which might not even be in my life time, I'm Jake's and Kassidy's Family and will do whatever is in my power to protect them.

However I always look back at my Brother, Ben and think about the good ol' days when we didn't have a Care in the World, the Days before we were forced into the Pressure of Command, The Days when we were only Soldiers."

I'm not very good at writing short stories. These ones are all really good. Maybe i should write one about a nerd talking to her grandchildren:

Creaking because of her dodgy back, the old woman sat down in the rokcing chair where she always sat with her signed photo of Gates McFadden and her shotgun. Two disgustingly cute children sat down in front of her.
"Tell us about your battle scars Grandma!" they chorused in their annoying kid voices.
"No, can't you see I'm busy", creaked the old woman, taking out a tattoo magazine.
"Please Grandma, go on! Please!"
"Why can't you kids be normal just once and watch Star Trek? Or play in mud? Or take up smoking? I hear it's all the rage for year nine and under."
"Please, go on! We'll be good! Tell us about your battle scars!"
The old woman put down the tattoo mag and began to roll down her stockings.
"This is the replacement knee I had to have when that fat Jedi sat on me at Collectormania... and this is the false tooth I had put in after I said Jean Luc Picard is better than Kirk..."

Okay. So my story i rubbish. But hey, it's not like i want a gcse in english... panic panic panic

Star Trek Story

Captains Log, Star date 6265541.2

The U.S.S. Yamato and its crew have been told to investigate gravitational anomalies on a planet known as Ikaritos. The civilization on the planet has only recently created warp drive. The Ikarits gravity is normally nine times that of earths, but the distortions have caused their gravity to change to a near earth gravity. The change in gravity has caused abnormalities in children at birth; brain damage is more and more common in babies than ever before in their history. Adults suffer severe light-headedness causing great chaos, slowing brain functions and so on. Normally the Federation would just evacuate the planet but we have reason to believe it is not a natural phenomenon and is being caused by something or someone else. Our current E.T.A. is approximately three days because we are passing through a plasma field, which would ignite if we tried to travel faster than Warp Three through it. The field is also far too vast to travel around it, even at maximum warp it would take us three months to arrive at Ikaritos.

E.T.A. Mr. Everson? Captain Aurora said with a friendly voice, a sly smile spreading across his bearded face. Three days sir, this be-damned plasma field is restricting our Warp power to Warp Three. The lieutenant helmsman replied, obvious frustration in his face for having to constantly adjust coarse to avoid the more dense, and easy to detonate areas of the field and also avoiding debris from other ships that neglected the safety protocols and regulations. The Bridge is yours number one, Ill be in Hollow Deck four if you need me. Aye sir Commander Marlow responded. As the Captain walked onto the turbo lift the First Officer turned to the Chief of Security/Tactical Gordon, listen to me, take a day off. Youve been at that post for the last two days straight The commanders voice changed from an orderly voice to a joking voice. Youre falling asleep at your post. Gordon looked up at the Commander with a sleepy smile. Ah, just give me another cup of coffee and Ill be fine. Its not a suggestion Lieutenant its an order go get some rest. Aye Sir the Chief said as he walked into the turbo lift. Ill be back at 09:00 hours, it is my next duty shift. He said with a grin on his face. Damn Romulans never know when to give up, the captain said in a playful voice. The bridge crew laughed and then returned to their tasks. But sir, Lieutenant commander Linden is only half Romulan, thus the statement no longer applies to him the EMH said, genuine confusion in his voice. Ever since Voyagers return to the Alpha quadrant all Federation Emergency Medical Holograms have been equipped with holloemmiters witch allow them to wander around the vessels, and this one seems to enjoy coming to the bridge. I know Doc. It was only a joke, a figure of speech. Yes bu- Computer transfer the EMH back to sickbay, and lock him from the bridge unless there is a medical emergency. You cant do th- the EMH started to say when the computer complied and transferred his program to sickbay. The bridge laughed again and then returned to their duties, running diagnostics and scans.

The Captain Swung his Epee around to face his holographic fencing partner, his partner stepped back and at the same time batted away Ryans sword and put his own up to the captains chest and lunged, the captain narrowly avoided the jab and lifted his own epee to the holographic image and was about to score the winning point when the ship shook and the program automatically shut down. =/\= Captain to the bridge, whats going on up there? =/\= the captain inquired via the comm. Badge. =/\= OPS says that a small shuttle entered the field at warp five and ignited it, no survivors sir. =/\= the captain let out a loud sigh with his eyes closed tightly. =/\= Ok then, set a coarse for Ikaritos, maximum warp, Ill be on the bridge shortly. =/\=

=/\=Aye Sir =/\=the engineer called through the comm. Badge =/\= Sir, I have diverted all power from the phasers and reserves. Thats all I can give you sir. =/\=
=/\= Good, just try to let us maintain warp nine for at least-=/\= the commander hit a few buttons on the console and found his data =/\= Another three hours we will have to keep outrunning our own explosion until we exit the field. =/\= =/\= Aye sir, Rothery out. =/\= as the channel chirmed to a close the captain walked on to the bridge from the turbo lift. Status report? he said in a hard commanding voice. Engineering has diverted power from phasers and reserve power so we can hold maximum warp for three hours, if we do maintain this speed we will be out of the field in 2 hours and 56 minutes. OPS broke in Good, how far behind is the explosion, forty thousand kilometers and closing. We will not make it out of the field before it overtakes us, we will be in the explosion for about 54 minutes before we leave the field. Hmm, what is the estimate damage we would suffer? Mainly just paint chips off the hull, but the starboard Warp Nacelle will suffer slightly more damage, and will force us to reduce speed to warp seven All right maintain coarse and speed, Ill be in my quarters washing up if you need me commander Aye sir and with a small nod of his head the captain left the crew to their duties again.

Captains Log, Star Date 6265542.3.

The U.S.S. Yamato has arrived safely at Ikaritos with only minimum damage to the starboard nacelle. But alas our maximum warp has been reduced to warp 7 until engineering can repair the nacelle. The Ikarits, who seem to have been from feline ancestry, are a little moody. Their technology in all areas except for weapons are much less advanced they still consider themselves not as equals but as superior forms of life but they still ask for our help. They are like shorter hairier versions of Romulans. We have begun our analysis of the planet and the surrounding area but have so far found nothing that could be causing these disturbances but have found nothing. I have arranged a dinner aboard the Yamato, the Supreme Chancellor of the United Ikarits Delegate is to join us along with his chief advisor and a couple of his armed guards. The ships repairs should be complete within the next 24 hours.

The Captain and the senior officers walked into Transporter room 4 at 16:30 hours wearing regulation White with gold trimmed Star Fleet uniforms. Energize Mr. Bodie The captain said as he straightened his uniform. Aye sir, energizing now. The ensign Mike Bodie said as he pressed a button and pulled down a lever. A beautiful blue and white swirl of light appeared as the demolecularized Ikarits shimmered into view on the transporter platform. Five Ikarits appeared on the Pad, all approximately 4 feet tall. The Chancellor having a long thin face and Whitish Brown Fur, his Advisor has a smaller more rounded face, and was covered in Yellow-Orange fur from both hairy from head to toe. The two guards were wearing full protective suits witch prevented you from seeing their faces or any of their body. All five of them were muscular but the Female seemed to be more so. The bridge crew all performed the formal Ikarit bow all trying hard to do it properly so they didnt show dishonor on the Ikarits. The CMO walked into the Transporter room, she was also dressing in the dress uniform. She performed the bow hastily, causing the Ikarits to grunt with disapproval. The CMO stood up straight again this time holding out two objects that looked like Halos. Put these on, they are designed to access areas of your brain to make it seem like youre in the original gravity of your planet. The five Ikarits took the Halos and eyed them suspiciously. The Chancellor slowly raised it to his head and placed it on his head, instantly his narrow cat like eyes widened and he started to make a purring noise. The Chancellor turned to the other four and nodded. They all placed the Halos on their heads and had the same responses as the Chancellor, but then the Advisors mood changed There merely more technological tricks, they will not solve our peoples problems! She snapped. The captain rolled his eyes at the Ikarits. Chancellor if you and your party would please follow Lieutenant Everson to Hollodeck 5 he signaled to Kevin Everson to walk start to go, then to the rest of the crew. As the crew started to leave the Transporter room the Captain turned to the CMO. Saundra. Were did you get those Halos? I never knew such things existed. Saundra smiled and looked up at the Captain They didnt, it just goes to show what a Doctors knowledge of the brain and minor engineering skills can accomplish. The captain returned the smile Good job lieutenant. And the both started to walk towards the Hollodeck.

(the stories not done yet, but ill update it as often as possible.)

Kirk and the Janeway

Capt. James T. Kirk: Admiral...?!
Adm. Kathryn Janeway: Whom may you be?
Capt. James T. Kirk: I am Captain James T. Kirk of the... U.S.S. Enterprise.
Adm. Kathryn Janeway: I see your wearing a very old uniform?
Capt. James T. Kirk: Well that is..because some guy named Q brought here.
Adm. Kathryn Janeway: That leaves me with one choice but to send you back to the past.
Capt. James T. Kirk: How can you do such things? Why would you do such things?
Adm. Kathryn Janeway: You being here just messed up the timeline.
Capt. James T. Kirk: Admiral if you fail to send me back I will half to enjoy this moment while I can.
Adm. Kathryn Janeway: Security, send this man to the holding cell until we can figure out who he really is!
Capt. James T. Kirk: You can't do this... for we are fellow officers.
Adm. Kathryn Janeway: Until I can figure out who you really are I can't risk the security of this ship from the likes of you.
Capt. James T. Kirk: Well if that is the case then I have no choice but to cooperate.
Security Officer: Right this way Captain.
Capt. James T. Kirk: Why of course...

After several days James T. Kirk identity is confirmed and he is released from his cell. James T. Kirk now becomes a new captain of the future starfleet.

Memories of a captain

Stardate 6265541.2

It`s almost more then 40 jears ago. I was 40. I was captain of the USS Churchill. We were like sailors, drifting in a wild ocean. We were going to DS9. Then it happened. An S.O.S from a starfleet vessels reached us. This is the USS Duncan. We are under heavy fire. Please sent back-up. We changed course to help them. There we saw something we never seen before. Thousands and thousands of warships from a strange species, later known as the DOMINION. We didn`t find any trace of the USS Duncan. Then we saw that the warships changed course. They were heading to DS9, one of the famous space stations we now. We were trying to hail them, but they just ignored us. Then we alerted DS9. They sended out there new developed escort type, The USS Defiant and many more ships. It was a though battle. We destroyed many Dominion warships. Then we saw that the USS Majestic, an Miranda Class, was destroyed. Then there were some other ships. Those looked advancer then the other Dominion ships. They were thougher and harder to destroy. After many Dominion ships were destroyed, they finally go back to there own quardrent. We were happy that we survived the war. I was promoted to Fleet Captain by Admiral Benjamin Sisko himself. I still remember that day. Now that i`m 80, i can never see myself in a starship again. I hope my son is coming back soon.............

Long Lost Voyage

It's been 10 years we have been stuck in a galaxy unknown to our minds. We the crew of the U.S.S. Iwo Jima have been searching for a way home. Everyday our lives change, the crew aboard this vessel think of only one thing and that is if will ever get home to Earth our home planet. For years we have sent countless distress calls and no answer has come about. It looks like the only solution is to start over and build a new colony on an abandoned M Class planet. If we humans can no longer find our way home then we must rebuild our lives for the future of tommorow.

Captain William T. Rikers Log

Captain's Log stardate 241.2531, it was the day of mourning. We lost one of our fine officers. Lieutenant Davis was one of my favorite aboard the Titan. It's such a shame to lose such a good officer in a time where he is needed most. He will never be forgotten by this crew never. Hes smile and good sense of humor is what touches me the most. I know that his family is sadden by the of their son. After this log I will visit his family and bid him his final wishes.

Do they have to be Sci-Fi? Or can they be true stories?
