Should Scotty and Uhura have gotten together?

exactly what the topic is called...if you've seen the movies and i guess in the series, Uhura hit on Scotty a couple of times, and Scotty kinda played back, but nothing ever happened. so, do you think they should have hooked up?

Why not? If they both felt they could get along well as a couple, I don't see why not.

I actually think they'd have made a nice couple.

Whilst I prefer most Trek characters to remain detached from their crewmembers (in a sexual sense), there have been some good couples such as Dr. Crusher/Captain Picard. Scotty/Uhura would have made a good couple.

I haven't really seen any of the examples the original post refers to...but I think it definitely would have been interesting to examine. Just look at Voyager's Tom and B'Elanna--they're what got me into Star Trek in the first place! Besides, Scotty and Uhura both could use some companionship.

I don't remember a reference to this either, but then, I have an absolutly horrible memory, so that doen't mean much *LOL*. I think they would've been a cute couple had they persued a relationship though, yes.

I don't watch TOS all that much but it would have been good to have a marrage in there. It was only three season, but it still would have been great to see. There was a lot of romance between Kirk and a lot of Aliens (Some Humans while others not).

Well i think scotty and uhura would have made a great couple, but if you think about it scotty would have been seperated from uhura anyway, crash landing on the dysons sphere and being in a transporter buffer for 70 years.

Maybe it was for the best that they didnt get together.

After watching the TOS episode "The Lights of Zetar" I never wanted to see Scotty interact with a female again. He was horrible in that episode, where he was in love. I also didn't care for his scenes with Nichols in ST: V where a reletionship with Uhura was intimated. His character just didn't fit with romance. Much like LaForge on TNG. Must be something about Engineers.

I think they would have made a nice couple. What a crime that the screenwriters hadn't developed this idea afterwards.

Maybe Scotty would have had a happier retirement, in the books he suffers from a lot of guilt for letting Kirk die, and lives alone and drinks a lot to stop his nightmares. I think things eventually get better for him tho.
