Sat Sep 18, 2004 10:45 am USS Star Voyager: Record Attempt 3 - PLEASE LOCK |
|
By Order of the Captain
<XO>
Please use the following table to determine at what (local) time you would like to come online to attempt to break the record of most users online. Most likely, the attempt will be made on a Saturday.
Code: | THE 7 POSSIBILITIES:
GMT Calif NY UK Europe Aust(West) Aust(East)
1) 1700 1000 1300 1800 1900 0100 0300
2) 1800 1100 1400 1900 2000 0200 0400
3) 1900 1200 1500 2000 2100 0300 0500
4) 2000 1300 1600 2100 2200 0400 0600
5) 2100 1400 1700 2200 2300 0500 0700
6) 2200 1500 1800 2300 2400 0600 0800
7) 2300 1600 1900 2400 0100 0700 0900
For example: 0300 is 3am, 1600 is 4pm and 2400 is midnight.
Notes:
- possibility 3 held the previous record (49 users online);
- possibility 4 was tried the last time (we got 43 users online);
- possibility 6 might be the best for a new attempt (best for US, UK, Europe & Australia). |
If you have no interest is joining our attempt, please don't post nor poll. If you do, please do your best and figure out what time suits you the best. Within a week or two, Captain Republican_Man and I will choose that time that is in the majority to attempt another record.
- Commander Oliver

The later the better for me. I dont really like any of these choices, but I will say 2300.

3, 4, or 5 for me. Becuase if you schedual a Saturday for you, it's a Sunday for me and I work on Sundays, but before 10 am for me is good, which is options 3, 4, or 5, but I'll need notice!!!

If it is on Saturday, it'll be best for me to do it late. 2300 I guess.

Is this table correct? Because Europe is GMT+1, and here it's pictured like GMT+2...

We tried to take the daylight savingstime into account. In the winter, Europe is indeed GMT+1. However, as soon as the summer time kicks in, Europe is GMT+2.
Counties in the Southern hemisphere are currently in the winter so they don't do daylight savingstime right now (Australia for example).
I'm not sure when exactly we'll go back to normal time but I think it'll happen within a few weeks. Therefore I recommend we try the attempt soon (maybe within 2 weeks on a Saturday) so the hours the above table gives are still correct.

Option one for me. I usually stay up late on weekends. I can come on that late, well unless I have been out for the night with mates on the piss

I see no one else is polling in this thread. Okay, I recommend we start the next step.
In the previous thread, the users voted to try another atempt on a Saturday. So far, it will be at 2300 hours GMT.
Captain Republican_Man, shall we set a date? Perhaps Saturday, October 9th, 2004?

Yes I know, the rest of Europe has to get online at 1am. I don't think I can make it myself. Anyway, we'll have to discuss it with Captain Republican_Man.

Thank you Defiant, we will do so. A new thread will be made to attempt to break the record of most users online simultaniously.
Please lock this thread.
