Wed Sep 29, 2004 1:29 am Missed Oppurtunity With Dean Stockwell? |
|
I saw an episode, "Detained", a while back and just thought of something. I remember hearing about Scott Bakula being in ENT. I knew him from Quantam Leap, a show I loved, and thought it would be cool to bring in Dean Stockwell, Al, as a reacurring Hologram. Maybe not every episode but at least here and there or maybe just one episode. I heard about Dean Stockwell appearing on ENT and almost thought certainly he would be a Hologram. Instead he was a Tandaran. He played Colonel Grat.
I know a lot of people would say thats cheesy and horribly predictable. I just think it would have been kinda cool. I mean ST does have Holograms. I voted it would have been cool.

I see two people disagree with me they just don't want to say why. Funny how the three Janeway/Chakotay threads have 50 posts in each and this one has two by me.

I actually posted in here, But I didnt know the man nor watched any of Quantum Leap so I just kept my mouth shut for the most part be cause I couldnt justify my vote for the most part. I did vote for Yes-That would have been a cool tie-in

C99 my buddy! Thanks for posting. I understand. Maybe many people don't watch QL in this site.

Yes, I've watched Quantum Leap, and, yes, it would have been cool if they would have made that tie in with the hologram thing.

w00t! I'm good people. lol. But, seriously, do they have holograms in the Enterprise era? I don't really watch it. I've seen a few.

I voted no.
It would have been too cheesy, as you put it. Although I like Quantum Leap a lot, it has nothing to do with Star Trek and there shouldn't be too many crossovers. Every now and then as a special guest is fun but not when they are reoccuring characters.

But we don't see any holograms in TOS, Founder, and this would mess up the timeline and blah blah blah...
Nah, too lame, I guess it could've been some kind of alien technology, though, for the Starfleet technology level issue.

Dean Stockwell as a hologram on ENT? What a great idea, Founder.
I like things like that, they're so subtle and a lot of fun.
Slightly off-topic, an actor by the name of Bill Bixby appeared with an actor called Ray Walston in a 60's show called My Favourite Martian. Years later, the two actors appeared in The Incredible Hulk in an episode entitled My Favourite Magician, which tipped the hat to their original characters (sort of).
My point? I like things like that. A subtle tip of the hat to QL would be good and I see nothing wrong with that. Great, great idea, Founder.
