Wed Sep 22, 2004 11:12 pm Oh my GOD! |
|
So I wake up this morning after falling asleep (sorry Ziyal ><) and I go and check out my inbox... Now I'm a little bit over my trek period, but I actually got star trek spam this time.
Quote: | Hi, I hope you're well. I'm in Australia and am
researching with another classmate, the history and
impact of Star Trek in my media studies course at high
school, plus we have to profile 2 of the series (we
picked Voyager - my fave show and the original series)
and survey any preferably advanced fans we can find on
the questions below, that we can't answer.
If in addition to responding to the questions below,
you could please recommend (or just pass this whole E
mail) onto any other advanced, articulate Voyager and
general Trek fans you know (or don't know, but still
admire), this would be much appreciated. We did
post on the Str Trek Voyager forum that I saw your
posts on, but the response was extremely poor
unfortunately. Thanks to cable, I've caught the
first 5 seasons on Voyager and am getting to the last
2 and have seen most of the original series, except
the 3rd.
Question 1. What are the unique qualities of Voyager's
Kathryn Janeway character, that you most admire,
compared to other Trek characters, or captains.
Question 2. What do you individually most admire about
both the original series and the Voyager series,
compared to other Trek show or sci-fi / non-sci-fi
shows.
Question 3. Who's your most 1 or 2 favorite
character/s on Voyager (and why) and who is your most
favorite 1 or 2 character/s on the original series n
Voyager (and why) ? If it's Janeway, no need to
answer.
Question 4. What are your most creatively witty
(serious and / or humorous) top 5 reasons for why a
new, or advanced Trek or sci-fi fan, would benefit
from owning or watching the Voyager and Original show
on DVD.
When to respond : ASAP.
Thanks so much for your time. I hope to hear from
you.
Best regards,
Karen Jackson |
Now we all know that Aussies only run around naked with the kangeroos to play their crazy instruments, but that they'd actually spam my inbox!? It must mean that I'm an ubertrekkie, and you're all less than moi! (except for ziyal ofcourse) But very freaky spam.

I don't think it's spam, I think it's gen-u-ine. haven't you ever had a class like that? I think that's a good way to get information for it.
I have an aussie friend, and though crazy, she is very trustful. I think we can give this aussie the same credit

I agree, there's no reason not to send it back. It's just helping someone out

Well the main reason why I won't send it back was that It was e-mail spam. I wouldn't mind if it was someone who has posted on STV for a while, but to join a forum just to get member's email addresses isn't cool.

Yeah, I responded to it. It's not as if it was especially difficult, sheesh.
Recieving it must've been especially traumatizing for you Dirk, to post about it,

that's not why they sent it. It was all explained in the letter, all you had to do was click "reply" and fill it out. No email address required.
