France was declared one of the most dangerous nations for American's to visit. I don't think they'd issue that advisory if there weren't some bad feelings between the two.

As for the Statue of Liberty. It was a gift, yes? Were there strings attached? If so, they can have it back. If not, it's ours now, since we kind of put it together..., and we can quit harping on it.

(And of course I know that they couldn't move the statue intact from France to NY, but they could have sent the engineers, )

As for the American's who don't like the US. Do something about it, or shut up. You live in a democracy. That means you can change your government. Don't waste everyone's time with your petty whining.

Those of you from "away", () Deal with it. I can think of many things I don't like about some of your countries, but we don't sit here and harp on it. I mean, look how excited we got when someone targeted France for the same treatment the US has been receiving for ages. Doesn't anyone else find this odd? Or is it true that it's ok to hate American's "just because"?

If people would just start listening to each other instead of the, "I don't care what you say, I know I'm right" attitude, we'd be so much better off.
BTW, if some people want to call them "Freedom Fries", let them. Good Lord, it's not like they are saying "nuke France". Jeez.

^ All I said is it was funny *looks innocent*

Besides, fries are belgian *however you spell it... I believe*

That would have been great for everyone if the US had never gone to war with Iraq. I can just see it!

*Innocent Iraqi citizens see pictures of sadam housein everywhere. They think it is horribley stupid. They turn on the TV and watch the extremely censored news and wonder what the heck is ACTUALLY going on in the world and everything they are missing. One day they get their hands on a computer and go online and look at all the stuff that's happnening. They speak out against the government. They get tossed in prison, tortured, and killed. Wahoo. In the mean time, Americans are all sitting around a campfire with flowers in their hair smiling idiotically being happy they have not gone to war. Someone in Iraq thinks they're a bunch of idiots, and out of nowhere a big nuke falls on the Americans heads and they are all killed. Vicious dictators move in and take control of the most powerful and influential nation in the world. They then proceed to wipe out the rest of the free world, and suddenly everyone is on their knees either accepting "Allah" or getting shot. Everyone clap for the new world order!*

^ Slight exageration

Superb points, and if I had said that, it wouldn't have been an exageration.

Don't worry...I looked....there is nothing on the list of things to boycott that I even recognized the names of. Apparently we don't import alot from France.

Why would I want to boycott france? I like the two best things that came from there. French Toast and French Fries.

But those aren't truly French
I won't use ANY ACTUAL French products--and I've heard the rumer that Target may be a French company, and if that's true, then I won't buy there any more.

I don't see what the point is in boycotting France. You're really only just hurting the innocent civilians, and not the government.

No, that's not true. Boycotting goods is an EXCELLENT way to send a message to the government. If their economies bad because of it, then..

Now that is HORRIBLE! A HORRIBLE attack! HORRIBLE!

The most I've said about France was something that I took back realizing that it was wrong (the jerks comment). This goes WAY over the line!

Hey, I didnt make the video, I just watched it.

The song itself is harmless unless you watch the video with it, then it makes more sense as an attack, implying Bush is getting away with murder with all the things he's doing. That's what I assume the connection is anyways

Now, RM. Which is worse? American Idiot or Getting Away With Murder?

Getting Away with Murder, by a good amount. But they're both wrong still...

This brings up a point though

If these things are such horrible attacks, and are being brought up, then there must be some truth behind them, no?

No. Definitely. Not. Just because someone believes in a conspiracy theory, certainly does NOT mean it's true. Especially when you have no REAL evidence, except suspiscions. (Unless someone would kindly bring me some)

There's always truth everywhere Not all of it is true, but the truth springs from the natural dislike of America by some people. You can't please everyone.

The U.S. has had its share of mistakes and blackened reputations. But I don't consider America or Americans by any means stupid, discriminatory, mean, belligerent, greedy, et cetera. On the whole the nation itself is a very good place to live, with great people. It's made some mistakes in the past, and there have been some stupid, discriminatory, mean, belligerent, greedy or et cetera Americans. But then again, the same can be said of any country.

EXACTLY! My gosh, Val, there have been SO MANY conspiracy theories and attacks on this President because so many people HATE him, that it's just--ugh! It doesn't make them true, because this song says it or Michael Moore says it...

I suppose that's a fair statement. All countries have made mistakes, etc, so...

I am by no means saying Americans are stupid, greedy and such. I have many American friends whom I get along with just fine and are none of those things and I'm sure it is a great place to live, but it doesn't mean that the government at the moment is the greatest. I am by no means an expert on the subject, but from what I've seen, I don't like Bush much .

I don't hate president Bush. I just disagree with most of his decisions over his term, and dislike that he tends to see most things as either black and white.

And Michael Moore, for all his determination, all he really wanted to do was get publicity and strike at 'the man'.
