PostTue Sep 14, 2004 12:39 pm    My very own "Fire Ship" Sequel!

After having read Fire Ship for the second time and once again being irritated that it had to end, I have decided that it must never end and I am in the process of writing my own novel that picks up the moment Fire Ship leaves off. Please forgive my poor grammar, it only took me about a minute to whip this first page up and I havent had time to edit or revise. I think I will keep the rest of the book to myself until I am satisfied with the results but I can tell you that the final version of the fallowing passage I will go into more detail with the three Jemhadar Captains. Even though I am to paranoid to show you all of my work I thought I should at least warn you about what I was doing. Ive decided to go far a satirical parody of LOTR staring my favorite Lady Captain!

Please tell me what you think of my idea?

*In 2378 Captain Janeway went into a bar called The Captains Table with her First Officer Chakotay never to be seen again.

The Captains Table was a lot like Castle Perilous, it was a bar that existed on every planet, in every time, and in every dimension. Only Captains or people who had once been Captains were aloud to enter. It was a place where those who have commanded mighty vessels of every shape and era can meet, relax, and share a friendly drink or two with others of their calling. Sometimes a brawl may break out but its all in the family, more or less. Just remember, the first round of drinks is always paid for with a storyeven in Faerie Wood.

It was Janeways second visit to The Captains Table, this time she had dragged her First Officer Commander Chakotay, who had once been the Captain of a small Maquis ship, with her. After finding a table with only three people at it (Captain Nemo, Captain Pike, and Hompaq a female Klingon Captain), Janeway felt a tingle run up her spine as she sat down to order a drink for herself and Chakotay. Three Jemhadar Captains had just entered the bar letting in a snowdrift. Fear swept through the room as all, at the table Janeway now occupied, stood to confront the enemy. It struck Janeway as odd, that there was a bright snowy day outside, when she had entered three minutes ago it was a hot and humid night. As fighting broke out Janeway ran for cover, not because she was a coward but because she had a ship and a crew to take care of, they would be lost without her and she never wonted to be separated from her crew-her children again.

Kathryn Janeway leapt across the room towards the bar flipping a table as she went, to protect herself from stray disrupter fire. Blue flashes hummed over head striking the Player-Piano as Janeway crawled in the direction of the door between the bar and the fireplace. As Kathryn entered the Lavoratory she could still hear the Piano struggling to play, despite the many direct impacts she had taken. Damn, Where is Chakotay?! It was to late, she had to barricade the restroom door. How am I going to get out of this one?!

Janeway noticed a window at the far end of the stalls. The door was beginning to crack, she had to make a break for it! YEEAAAHHHH!!!! She ran for the window, leaping into the air as shrouds of glass splintered into ever smaller pieces around her!

Janeway was fallingfalling far. Wasnt she on the on the ground floor? It seemed like an eternity before she hit. Pain shot through Kathryns body and she realized she was sliding fast, she felt shingles under her. She had to stop herself, NOW! A fiery sensation ran up Janes legs as her feet crashed through a stone ledge and her body went sailing over its edge. Kay stretched out her hands wildly to halt her decent and screamed as the skin was scraped from the palm of her hands! A brick came loose in her left hand and she tried to scream but only managed to let out a muffled oomph as her side slammed into the blunt wall of the structure she was clinging to.

After what seemed like forever, hanging out in space, Kathryn realized there was another ledge under her aching feet. Deeming it safe enough, she opened her eyes for the very first time. Janeway almost lost her grip when she discovered how high she was. Thats imposable! Kat realized that she was clinging to the tallest spire of A CASTLE!!*
