The Evil Man--BIN LADEN
Quote: | General: Bin Laden Still Issuing Orders
BAGRAM, Afghanistan Three years after the Sept. 11 attacks, Usama bin Laden (search) and his deputy are still issuing orders for attacks by Al Qaeda (search), a top American commander told The Associated Press Saturday.
Maj. Gen. Eric Olson said that an Al Qaeda-linked group was suspected of a deadly car bombing at a U.S. security firm in the Afghan capital last month. He said the attack was a homicide mission.
"There are senior leaders of Al Qaeda that are working through operatives in Afghanistan," Olson told The Associated Press in an interview. "They are involved in planning and in some cases directing attacks inside of Afghanistan (search)."
Olson, the operational commander of U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan, said the military had no fix on the whereabouts of either bin Laden or Al Qaeda No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri. But the involvement of well-trained foreign fighters in attacks near the Pakistani border convinced him that the fugitive leaders were pulling the strings.
"What we see are their techniques and their tactics here in Afghanistan, so I think it is reasonable to assume that the senior leaders are involved in directing those operations," he said.
Olson spoke to AP after a ceremony at the main American base north of Kabul to mark the anniversary of the 2001 attacks, which sparked the U.S. campaign to oust the Taliban and drive Al Qaeda fighters from Afghanistan. |

A guy who hides in caves and attacks from a distance is nothing more than a coward.

And a guy who sits in his nice, warm comfy office and orders attacks from a distance is braver?

Never said he was but if you declare war on someone they see it comming. we didn't see what happened on 9/11. As for me I'm the kind of guy who would fight in person I wouldn't be ordering people from a distance.

But it's not people like you who sit in office, it's people like you who get ordered away.
And Osama...well, this is how people like Osama fights. It's not like we're used to, but it's the way they do it. Cowardly perhaps, but efficient.

Usama Ibn Laden is a fool and a leader of a Twisted Cause thats my say on him, but for me to call the man a Coward would be wrong- he fought the Russians in Afghanistan HIMSELF and even went through extensive training in CIA Run Camps in Afghanistan, he had no obligation to do so as he was a Filthy rich Saudi Arabian would didn't need to involve himself in Afghani Politics or an Afghani War. The man is a fool and a mentally unstable person, but he's not a coward.

I agree, I suppose, EXCEPT for the "mentally unstable person" comment. He is NOT "mentally unstable." He is EVIL, PURE EVIL, pretty much like Hitler.

Except that Hitler was smart. And how many people have Osama killed anyway? Not many, compared to really "evil" people like Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin.

So what is your alternative? Send the leaders of nations to fight in the battle? We'd lose a lot of leaders that way. That is really a dumb thing to say.

He killed many people. He doesn't have to have killed millions to make a parallel with Hitler.

| I'd rather sacrifice one life than several hundred, or thousand, regardless if they're a leader or something else.

He's not a coward? What a ridiculous thing to say. Did he take responsibility for 9/11 like most terrorist groups do after a bombing? No. Did he attack anything resembling a military facility? No. He took out civilians. He is a trained soldier. A sociopath, but a trained soldier, and he targeted civilians. I don't give a rat's ass if he's Muslim, or Southern Baptist.
Who the hell cares what he did before? It's what he's done now that he's being judged for. If he'd sent his little bitches after a military target, things would be different. Not a coward, my ass.

My gosh, those are good points! I completely agree--OSAMA IS a coward.

It's EASY to say that, but Colin Powell said the other day that Osama is alive and well, they believe.

((Note: I don't know why you brought up what religion he was, because I don't consider him to be religious- how could any religious person commit such an Attrocity?- he isn't a Religious person clearly. I have no sympathy or understanding for him at all))
Secondly his original plan was to hit- the Pentagon, World Trade Centre and The White House- so technically if you're discussing his Plans for 9|11 only then he did want to attack Government Buildings as well as Civilian Ones. However I am not someone who when referring to a person, discusses only a single event in their life. 9|11 was a very Sick Event (and yes Usama Ibn Laden- is a sick and twisted man), and I'm sure the World will never forget it but I don't think anyone here on this forum would be brave enough travel to a Distant land to fight a War that they sympathised with that concerned not their own country.

He claims it's about his faith. His warped, skewed view of it, but faith nonetheless.
As for the second part. People do it all the time. When I join the Navy, do you think I'll be ordered to places that are only about protecting the US? Hardly.

1. I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU on both points.
2. There are MANY members of STV that are serving in the military, with some overseas, ok?

I'd have to disagree. Most who join the military, and stick with it, are doing it for a cause, foreign or otherwise. The 2 year people, fine, they are doing it for college money. Well, I can't totally agree with that, either. Joining the service isn't like getting a job at McDonalds. You can be killed.

Simply put: Agree with your statements, as they are logical and good.
