The only one here making fun of anything/anyone here is you.

Which one is it? Christmas is a religious holiday, or it's a commercial holiday? When they decorate the store with Christmas presents on the registers, and garland hanging from the ceiling, I can damn well say "Merry Christmas". And it's usually used as a greeting or a salutation, or don't you know about manners?

Look at you generalize. I never said that "all foreigners do this", or "all foreigners do that". That's your statement. You seem very strong on generalizing and stereotyping... Sad.

Since you missed the example before, I'll reiterate. I've been to NYC dozens of times. We were fortunate if 3 out of 4 people could speak english that was clear. It's simple math. 3/4ths is a majority, is it not? The author of the letter posted was clearly referring to drastic circumstances, not Middletown America. But the application is there whether you choose to see it or not. And no, "we all" aren't making it sound like they have to learn english in 2 weeks. That was your interpretation.

By saying that my culture is demeaned makes me a KKK member? By saying that everyone should have the same freedoms makes me a white supremacist? Perhaps educatiing yourself about this "group" is something you should look into...

Where are you coming from talking about some kind of war? American's are losing freedoms, whether you choose to see it or not. And since it's a cloudy issue to you what an American is, let's clarify, shall we? You keep saying "white power", and crap like that. Are you the racist here? Saying that only whites are American's? If you bothered to read instead of merely reacting, perhaps you would be accurate when referring to others statements. It's been agreed that America is multi-cultural. By association, one would gather that for that to be the case, American's must be multi-cultural, too. Maybe it's just me...
No one is saying to oppress anyone's culture. ANYONE'S. And again, whether you like it or not, it's happening.

And yeah, you did assume. You don't know jack about me, yet you are calling me intolerant. It's intolerant to want to be myself? Since when?
I'm not asking that the Spanish people in downtown Boston change their ways, but if I'm to be respectful of them, then the reverse should be true. If not, it's reverse-discrimination. It seems that that's ok with you, though...

I haven't read every post in this topic, I just remembered a funny thing about immigrants and adapting...
When i was in Grece during midsommer - a big holyday in sweden (I would say the biggest), I came to think about this...
Many people say that immigrants must adapt when living in a diffrent country, and i totally agree. But when I was in Grece, everywhere I went, they had these posters that said. "Join the midsommer celebrations" And they would have everything. I mean all the swedish food, the dances, the "may-pole" (bad translation ) EVERYTHING. it Was sweden, just not In sweden...
And there are swedish people that live in spain (and other countries, but I've specially heard about spain) who lives in a own little community. They don't speak spannish and they only spend time with other swedes...
big dubble standard in morals. But no one gives a rats ass. (I'm talking about sweden here, so don't worry)

Yup. Just wanted to say that, cuz it made me so angry. Many sweeds complain about immigrants, and then they do the same thing.
double standard. Don't like that.

So yeees...
BTW Why can't you say marry christmas?
