So the defiant has 5 decks...Deck 1 being the bridge of course, but what can be found on the other 4 decks and where?

It's bland in the sense of there are only vitals. The infirmary isn't the comfiest, there are no holodecks, recreation areas...That's what I mean by it.

^

That's true. And that's the point of this ship. It's just like a tank. It isn't cumfy but packs a hell of a punch.

The Deep Space Nine Technical Manual shows that the Defiant only has 4 decks.

Deck 1 - Bridge, Transporter Room 1, Main Engineering/Warp Core.
Deck 2 - Infirmiry, Warhead Control Room, Transporter Room 2, Mess Hall, Main Engineering/Warp Core, Cloaking Device, Computer Core.
Deck 3 - Airlock, Cargo Bays, Computer Core, Antimatter Pods, Warp Core.
Deck 4 - Navigational Deflector, Landing Gear, Shuttlebays.

Deck 4 ShuttlebayS?

If it only has 4 decks I don't see several shuttlebays. I was pretty sure it was 5? Maybe 4 & 5 are classed as the same?

The Shuttlebays are actually spread out over decks 3 and 4, but there is no deck 5. There's a cuttaway view from the side of the ship that shows only 4 decks. It's a very interesting book if you haven't seen it, especially the plans for the Defiant. They show a deck plan for each of the 4 decks!

Officially the defiant only has 4 decks. But in, i think it was way of the warrior. They sliped up and had a deck 5 mentioned by Dax. That was a mistake. Probably the writers forgot. Just like in Nemesis with deck 29

The Enterprise-E only has 24 decks. That mistake in Nemesis was just one of those awful ones.. especially when you consider they were fighting around about deck 29 and then the Reman fell at least another 5 decks down..
