No I'm pretty sure it was a normal episode? I cannot remember anything else about it now :@ Maybe It was the one where Data found his evil brother?

Wesley entered Starfleet Academy in the fourth year of TNG. I think that's when he got a red suit.
The first time I actually saw him wearing it was in the episode Final Mission; that's where he, Picard and some alien captain crash landed on a desert planet.

You're talking about a Cadet uniform.
Several episodes using it, one i remember most is the one where the Nova Squadran attempt to do the Kolvaart Starburst.
