There were some jilted fans at the 2004 Canadian National Sci-Fi Expo (August 27-29) when Patrick Stewart was a no-show due to health complications. HypaSpace caught up with Stewart's SFX stand-ins -- LeVar Burton and Michael Dorn -- who explain how they got the heart-sinking news via Brent Spiner and Gates McFadden. The SFX coordinator, James Armstrong, said Stewart will make good with a special appearance later this year.

He underwent a procedure to widen one of his arteries.
I hope that he is doing well.
By all accounts he is a great man , and it goes without saying that he is an incredible actor.

Patrick is a very good actor, not only in TNG, but beside that as well.... This is not such good news to hear. I hope he will recover well

I agree. Patrick Stewart is an excellent actor. Could be one of the reaons why I like TNG so much. Sometimes TNG is so much more...believable the some other series because of the acting.
