According to the evidece presented, Kerry did lie. Now, if more information is presented, I will eveluate it, and possibly change my standing. I noted that you said that the military would strip him of his medals if he lied. This is not necessarily true. The military would investigate first, and that could take SEVERAL years. Since the evidence has been brought up recently that he may have lied, I am sure the military is investigating it now.

Good point.

No, but if so they should.

And I say "no" because he'll find a way around it, but he DID lie. And that's a fact.

You dont just find a way around it! ITS THE MILITARY! You have to fill out tons of forms, go through review boards, they talk to all the people who served with you, etc. They are extremely effecient in their process!

Ok, would you really forget Vietnam in 30+ years? He even states specific dates as to when stuff happened. If he couldn't remember why not just say that?

Not efficiant enough apperantly. We know something is amiss about Kerry's war record. Hes lieing about something. Too many people have come forward and things aren't adding up. Dates seemed to be confused.

You know im tired of people saying Bush was AWOL and this and that. Im tired of Kerry saying because I went to Vietnam I qualify as a presidential candidate. You know what I say to that? Shove it up your ass Kerry. Going to war doesn't qualify you to be President. All of that stuff doesn't matter. Bush didn't even go AWOL. He served in the National Guard. Would people let it go? Bush serving or not serving has NO bearing to his Presidency. Nor would Vietnam service for Kerry if he won.

Yes, yes yes!!! "Shove it" Now, yes I agree with you, and to my afore statement, Defiant, there's always some way to get around it, but I hope that it doesn't happen--but then again it would also take years, as another said, for him to get introuble.

You can get a purple heart for just about anything now. You trip over a military issue anything, break your ankle, and bam, your eligible. And there is chaos in war. Things slip through.
And the military can't do jack right now. They have to appear bi-partisan. Once the election is over, and Bush is back in office, , they can launch a full investigation.

I tend to agree. Like I said earlier, If these acusations of him not being in Cambodia are taken seriously, There could be an investigation pending completion right this second. They are, however, not going to interfere, and tell the public what really happened until the race is over.

YOU DO NOT GET A PURPLE HEART FOR ANYTHING. My friend fractured his hip, and he has no purple heart!

Okay, well I think that she just meant that it's laxed a bit, and was exagerating, but Kerry was hardly scraped up. And he got 3 Purple Hearts in 4 months, and yet few others got that...Perhaps HE made himself get the first purple heart with a self-inflicted wound? Just a thought...

I don't know about the whole trip over a rifle thing, but I do know that it is a lot easier to get a Purple Heart than it used to be. there are so many loopholes, that it is insane.

No, not at all. ((Strong words held back!)) You cant, because doctors can tell about how far away the gun was, by the amount of powder with the wound, and all. He didnt self inflict a wound, geez.

Well, that may not be the case, Defiant, because in his journal he said that, 7 days after an "attack" was supposed to have happened, that he had "yet to be shot."

No one said he did, but how do you know that when he was in the service, before you were born, that doctors could tell how far away the gun was? huh? You can't, doctors couldn't.

Actully Power Burn Identification has been around longer then you might think.

All it is is just basically looking at the burn around the wound to detrmine how far away the gun shot was. So, The closer the shot the bigger the burn.

Umm, sorry to burst your bubble, but I know someone who got a purple heart because he burned his hand on the stove while aboard ship...
Just do a little research on it. Purple Hearts don't mean what they used to.

I live right near a military base. A lot of them have been deployed at one time or another, and even they talk about how easy it is to get a purple heart these days. Which, BTW, I find quite offensive. Initially, it was a great medal to receive, now it's becoming run of the mill, and is totally unfair to soldiers who are actually wounded in combat.

Look it up. It's right at your fingertips. And if you are "too lazy", that's your own fault.

T, are you telling me that we are actually RIGHT?!?! No way, that just can not be. lol. j/k. So, I didn't think that you could actually get a purple heart for burning yourself. If this is true, I am mortally wounded.

My cousin Brad is in Iraq atm. He accidentally blew off his own fingertip. His mother is proudly showing his purple heart to everyone. Repeatedly. But, I guess according to Mark, I didn't see it...

Aw man, He blew his finger off?!?! Well, I guess that proves the point that you CAN get it for anything, but think I am going to drop this particular subject and move on with the topic. So, lets get another debate started shall we?

You said that you get it for doing anything, like breaking your ankle. I disproved it with an example with my friend. I dont care what you say besides that.
